Major Problem with FM 2010

I have installed and started playing FM 2010.

But the problem is that the season just runs through day by day but without any league games being played.

I am playing as a manager of a premier league team and the game has gone up until mid december without one actual match being played.

I still get all the other notifications and transfer market news etc - but this is very odd??

That is strange - have you checked the league table - what does this say - have you set your news items accordingly as well.

Have you started at the start date for the English league or the date for somewhere like Brazil?

i checked and it all seems ok, will check all the settings again and see...

I have tried everything, even reinstalling - changing the settings and choosing different teams to manage but i still have the same problem - someone please help??

...Did you set a password for the save when you started? You need to put the password in to activate the saved game.

Have you checked your status screen - does it show you as actually being a manager of the PL team. Can you go back to one of the very first news items confirming your managerial appointment? Have you clicked on the team you are managing and checked the staff screen and are you listed as the manager?

Have you tried the DVD on another PC with the same results - clutching at straws on this one though!

Failing this I have no idea as I have never heard of this in any version of the game.
