Ibroxlegend
Sorry if someone else found this out years ago, or if it has been brought up before, but I found an ingenius way of buying players for nothing. In my search for a goalkeeper for Cardiff, with no transfer budget it was going to be difficult. However, I have found if you offer 40 mill after 50 games with no initial fee, it gets accepted, so as long as you sell the player at the end of the season its ok! Plus the players value goes up to 40 mill! This seems a bit immoral though, does this count as a bug? You could become a super rich club by buying expensive players for nothing, then selling them on at the end of the year. Can i go through with the deal? Wouldnt feel right if I did. Jamie543
go threw with it as a test and keep the player past the 50 games and see if you go into admin
Ibroxlegend
Shouldnt do, clause is only active when player plays 50 games for the club he signed for. Saw this irl with Micheal Ball for Rangers, they wanted to sell him before the 'min games played' clause kicked in.
RonDicko
Have you actually bought him? I have an inkling that the board will block the deal...
Ibroxlegend
Yup, deal went through, he is now worth 40 million!Saved it before the deal went through as well incase my concience got the better of me.
Maidel
The Player isnt actually 'worth' 40 million - if you kept him for 9+months his value would 'normalize' - if you try and sell him he will be worth what he is 'actually' worth - which isnt 40million. RonDicko
Well, in answer to your question; yes, that is technicallycheating. But, then again, its just cheating yourself;).
Ibroxlegend
Thats true, but I could still sell him for 100% profit- after all, as long as I sell him before the 50 games I will have bought him for nothing. If I bought a player who 'normalised' to 20 mill for example, I would make a 20 mill profit from nothing!

Ibroxlegend
I dont think I would go into admin if I kept him past the 50 games. I think the new capital of wales would become 'Bank of England'.
tottenhamfmo7
You can do it in real life, but most clubs wouldn't accept no initial fee and all in a clause based on appearances. Especially if it was a quality player!
Ibroxlegend
But thats the point- should the AI not be tweaked so it doesnt accept these deals? Otherwise its a bit unrealistic and tempting to say 'well, desperatly need a keeper, will do it just this once this season...'
Maidel
Quite a few transfers have been on the basis of 'ill pay you 5 million after 10 games, 5 million after 20 games, 5 milllion after 30 games and 5 million after 40 games' thats not as uncommon as you think - especially if a club is buying an injury prone/older player who the selling club still wants good money for, but the buying club wants some insurance that they arent buying a broken down nag. No club would take a HUGE transfer fee after a large number of games precisely because they KNOW that the buying club would sell before hand - its common sense. They might, in real life, accept a deal of a large amound after 30+games, and a clause that said if the player was sold before that game the original club recieved 100% of the money from the new deal.
