Placing young stars in reserve team, will affect their growing?

Recommended Posts

eg. Man Utd

i don wan to put so many players in first team squad, its messy.

so i preferred to put my young stars, like Obertan, Macheda, Welbeck, tosic etc. in reserve team.

but i still let them play a lot of premier league and champion league games.

1) in situation like this, will my young stars growing well, just like if they are in first team?

2) first team squad and reserve team, are they train together?

thanks

Morale will definately go down, therefore attitude will be affected which will definately result in attributes either stagnating or decreasing. Plus you say you are still playing them in the league however if you don't control your reserve team and your assistant manages the reserves then they will be playing 2 games in 2 or 3 days......condition will be very low.

I would suggest that you only put players in reserves for a genuine reason i.e returning from injury etc not because the squad looks messy!!!

1) Depends how big your first and reserve teams are and how many competitions you are playing in. As already stated undoubtably, players playing frequently in both first and reserve games will suffer because of their condition - this will lead to injury problems and potentially harm their development. Personally I keep my first team quite small - 16 to 18 players that are picked very reguarly and play most of my games. My reserve team is also quite small and consists of fringe players (good young players) and those who have been injured or need to improve their condition.

Typically, I tend to have anywhere between 6-12 players in my reserve team with youth players filling in the gaps. Any injury problems I have from my first team, my reserves are usually fit enough to slot stright into the team and as they are used sparingly throughthe season (each reserve player making about ten 1st team appearances in all competitions) their development isnt hampered. Then at the end of the season I promote any really good reserves to fill in gaps in my first team from players I have sold/retired etc.

If I have an abundance of young talent I ship the most promising ones off on season loans to my affiliated clusb - as long as they get regular first team action I am happy to let them go.

2) As far as the game is concerned your players train together in accordance to their contract. Full time contracts train together persumably meaning they can have more intensive sessions and use specific coaches, youth & part time contract players train together to reflect their less intesive sessions and use of specialist coaches (i.e. youth coaches who have better 'working with youngsters' ratings). You can use your imagination as to how your team pysically train together or even for that matter how they eat, sleep or who they sit next to on the coach to away games too! ;)
