Rohkey
Do you guys do it? Do you think its worth it?
Indi75
I confess that once I've developed my youth system I manage the odd game in order to see how they are doing and who plays well in what position.
Slapper
I do it when nursing guys back to fitness sometimes, as the ass man sometimes thinks a 50% fit first teamer is better than the 16 year old scrub.
Box
I tend to in long term careers, once I've established a strong youth team and use my reserve team to test out my potential stars and as already stated to nurse injured first teamers back to health without over stretching them in games - I substitute them on later in games etc. wheras my assistant would just do things like starting them when they're at 65% and expects them to play whole matches! It does slow your career down managing your reserves/youth sides though and means you tend to play your career games much longer. This is just something I like to do from my personal preference though and I could see why others wouldn't want to do it.
trekman
I tend to just concentrate on the first team.
