Old players?

Been scouting around foreign countries for a few bargain buys and have noticed the majority of the players are all over 30, what happened to all the young players? is this a fault in the game?

You should be getting newgens coming into the game each season. Are you setting any paramaters when you send your scouts out? If you've set a min age then obviously you won't get any young players. Also, if you've set a min skill level for a certain stat, young players might not have their stats fully developed.

I mean im manually scouting, going through the nations clubs one by one. The majority of the players that are there are all 30+. In fm09 and previous versions there were always loads of cheap young players in the likes of romania, slovakia etc, but not on fm10. I've got a large database on so i would have thought they'd be some coming through!

Yeah, a lot of teams keep their old players around until they retire. Check out the reserve teams. There should be plenty of younger players in them.

Theres still basically no players in the reserve teams either. Is this the same for you in say the romanian clubs? There were always young bargains to be had in fm09!

I haven't got the Romanian leagues loaded, but how far are you into the game? Maybe if you're only in the 1st or 2nd season, there'll be more newgens coming into the big teams later on.

Interesting observation. Anyone else find a dearth of players in their 20s? So you mean all players in squads are in their 30s, and that you've loaded up those leagues (but not retain all players)? Very strange and a serious issue if it's true.
