run like hell
I have just started my second season and have had to hire a new assistant manager because my old one went elsewhere. Now I don't have the option of getting the assistant manager to set the opposition instructions on match day for some reason. Anyone know why this is? Thanks
walsh
are you in a friendly or a game against a foreign team? I think that the assman needs to have a certain knowledge of the opposition to be able to set OI could be completely wrong though, it's just the assumption I have made when it's happened to me. NinjaDeathHamster
I've come across the same bug/feature? myself, would be nice to know if it was just a lack of tactical knowledge or unsuitably to the role or somesuch, or indeed a bug.

It's been Premier League matches. I'm scouting the next opponent too so I doubt lack of knowledge of the next opponent is a problem
SI Staff Riz Remes Posted November 3, 2009 SI Staff Share Posted November 3, 2009 Assistant manager suggestions on the OI are used in both the assistant manager feedback during the match and also to set the OI if you click on the "Ask Assistant" button for OI. However, if your assistant has no suggestions he wants to make, the button is disabled. This can happen if the assistant does not high enough attributes to analyse the opponent players but also if he does not consider the opposition players as a big enough threat. Especially when playing in the lower leagues or against lower league teams, it is likely that the assistant has very little suggestions most of the time. run like hell
hmm....I'm playing as Liverpool in the Premier League and my new assistant is Italian....will it be that he will learn about the English teams in time or will he never offer me the option of providing the opposition instructions? joshpmilton
Would it also be right to think that you'd need him to have a tactical awareness attribute above a certain level?
run like hell
that could be it actually...he's only a 4 in that area!
