craigoasis Posted November 3, 2009 Share Posted November 3, 2009 After complating my first season with Ajax, I noticed that two of my players had been called up to the Holland National team for the World Cup. They were my number 2 goalkeeper Martin Stekelenberg (sp) and strangely my out of contract U'19 goalkeeper. (I cant even remember his name, my coaches didnt even think he was worthy of a new contract) This is even more strange as Kenneth Vermeer is Dutch and my number one goalkeeper and he didnt even get a look in? Van der Sar was dropped, and the other goalkeeper that was taken was from Den Bosch who are in the division below!! There were plenty of other dutch goalkeepers in the Dutch Premier League that could have been considered!! Just seemed pretty unrealistic to me.
