"Cannot be registered for the next match"

I bought a couple of players after registering squad numbers, and this is what it says on "availability". Managing Newcastle United btw, and players in question is Van Der Vaart, Christopher Samba and Royston Drenthe. They've got the Ine icon.

Why are they unavailable?

Do I have to wait until January for them to become available?

Can I use an editor to make them available (if all else fails -_-)?

Wait for an official game select them then a window should pop up saying: some players don't have squad numbers there you can assign remaining numbers to them.
