A Difficulty Setting?

Has SI ever thought of implementing a difficulty setting into the game, (Easy, Medium, Hard)

Would effect things like

AI tactics (Difficulty)

Transfer Budgets (How much you get to spend at the start)

Board Confidence (Sacking etc)

Yes, this has been oft-discussed. I think you'll find an interesting conversation on it at A Realistic Approach to Difficulty Levels, which includes a bunch of very strong posts arguing both for and against, a detailed example of what a Difficulty Level might look like, and why that would be challenging to implement.
