He is instantly recognisable by his computer generated face, unless this option has been turned off (but seeing as you don't know what they are you probably haven't turned off the facegen technology.) They are introduced into teams through the academy, in order to provide new players to replace those who inevitably retire. Some are good, some are bad, as with all players on the game. They are a crucial part of the game, as they are vital to ensuring the game's longevity.
