Can't get international job with continental reputation

I want to have a game where I start unemployed and progress through the international game to World Cup glory, but I've gone through two years without finding a job. I've been rejected by nations such as Belgium, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Nigeria. Nigeria even appointed a brand new regen in my place! I've had offers from clubs like Lazio, just nothing international. Should I just keep waiting and trying or is there something that means I can't get an international post from the off?

I'm all patched up, btw. Anyone else know anything about this? Thanks
