View Full Version : My First tactic(Arsenal unbeaten for two seasons and won the Quad twice)
Hey Guys i have decided to Relase my tactic firstly may i say i am not claiminng this to be a super tactic and its not guaranteed succes.
Ok well using this tactic i have won the quad twice with Arsenal reamaining unbeaten in the prem for two whole seasons.
I then moved to conference Hinckley who were relegation favourties to test my tactic.
I was amazingly suprised as my team won the conference comfortably by a margin of 10 points.
Formation: 4-4-2 flat
Team instructions
Emphasis: normal
Passing: Short
Tackling: normal
Pressing: yes
Offside trap: no
Counter attack no
Men behind ball: no
Passing
All of my players passing is set to team
Tackling
All set to team except two MC'S
Pressing
The whole defence plus goalkeeper are set to no
The rest are set to yes
Pass to
All set to R/L/C
Free role
All set to no apart from wingers
Forward runs
All set to yes apart from DC'S,GK and one MC
RWB
All set to no apart from the wingers one MC and one striker
HUB
All set to no
Long shots
All set to no apart from two MC'S
Through balls
all set to no apart from two MC'S
Cross ball
All set to no apart from wingers and fullbacks
Marking
All set to man marking(my surprise instruction) apart from Gk who's set to none
Unless facing a 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 then the DC'S set to zonal
When leading/needing goal
When you go a goal up before the 60th minute i put the fullbacks forward runs to no and no forward runs for the MC
When leading in the 60th minutes
I put emphasis on defence and Men behind ball and counter attack on on yes
I also turn Rwb and forward runs off for everyone except the one striker
When going behind before the 60th minute i put everyone on forward runs except the DC'S.
I put everyone on RWB except the DC'S(if you then get the goal revert back to normal)
If needing a goal after 60th minute
Change formation to 4-2-4
Use the instructions i posted at the top and emphasis to attacking and everyone with forward runs and RWB except DC'S.

ok im grays athletic in the conference (ps: where are hinkley as i cant see them in the conference)
im gonna try this tactic and let you know how i get on.
I think they got promoted from the lower lower leagues.

ive done all tem instructions, now got some friendlys coming up.
Good luck bear in mind my first friendlies i lsot them for some reason.
when you say leading at 60min and you revert to defence and c/att and men behind ball, do you keep pressing on yes?
Friendlies won 2 drew 1 (5-5 v kuranyi's team)
Beat darlington
Lost to Fulham and sunderland
Drew with Reading - wasdown to 10 men
Beat Watford
Beat Derby - 4-0 up at half time have a red card and run out 4 - 3 winners

well i lost my first friendly but it was against watford. altough i did get alot of chances so it looks promising so far, i also havent got any new players at all because i cant find any that want to come to me and probably never will in the first season

i just dominated forest green, they only had 1 shot all game and i had 27 although i only won 2-0 its still a good result.

yeah i got some 16 year old from cheltenham, i think his name is alex allard or something but tbh he isnt that good only really backup, other than that its hard to get any players with only 1k transfer budget but hopefully if i do well in the league i will get more. (currently 6th)

Just went 5th after beating halifax 2-1 who were top of the league. My goal for the season is to at least make the play offs (they are play offs in the conference arnt they) and if that happens ill be happy. Even if i achiveve middle table i would be happy because the team had expectations to be relegated then next season i can work on my team and then go to league 2.

3rd place: win 12 drew 4 lost 4 - going extremely well!
although went out first round of league cup (again) to a lower league tema lincoln hammered me 3-0 lol! oh well im concentrating on league!
Yeah i done rubbish in the cups althoguh in the 5th round of fa cup.
Good to see it working.
just beat hull 2-1 away, im won of the best away compared to last season, they had a goal disallowed with 10 mins to go so i was lucky!

I am sticking to my own formations and tactics. Ok I dont win all my games etc but it is more fun trying to find a winning formula and looking for good players than playing a tactic you know will win you games no matter what team you are.

Ive modfied it to fit my players, i decided to use it as a base to get my team back on track but I can see where youre coming from.

Lcfc remmeber i warned the bad patch ofform;D.
Remember to use the defending lead and needing goal tactics too.
got a win after losing to fulham, beat reading 3-2 and they were 7th so it was good back up to 5th.

Hi ntfc, thanks for posting your tactic. I am going to try it out and see how it goes. I have been having real trouble winning with my team and was starting to think I had wasted my money buying this game, but we will see. I will let you know how it goes.

I have problem with my own tactic and I couldnt win or build good win(my team either Liverpool or Barnsley)

oh well i won against psv 3-1
Do you notice alot of red cards? as I have had a lot compared to last year - however i did have the best record at oonly 7 yellow cards at the halfway stage last season, but I still think i must of had 5+, it might have something to with the hard tackling on DC's and MC's, just wondering if you found this?
I have no hard tackling on DC'S,Only on mc's.
And in the last minutes i set easy on to avoid penaltys.

with grays i came 3rd in the conference and lost in the play offs, still good though as they were relegation favourites. Then i apllied for the cardiff job and im currently top of league 1 with them. (they were relegated) Only problem is a scored alot but conceed loads.

I am Guarenteed play-offs, but with teams like, Portsmouth, Sunderland, Sheff UTD and a very strong Nottingham Forest managed by Martin Jol sitting their i need to get automatic. Lee Trundle has picked the perfect time to start scoring with 9 in 10.
Matchs against Hull, ???? and Sheff UTD left anything can happen!

i decidided to scrapy my cardiff game and go back to my end of season 1 game with grays, hopefully going to get promoted. Has anyone expirenced some annoying comebacks? i was winning 3-0 against aldershot and they got 3 goals in last 20 mins very annoying.
I feel the same as Tony, ntfc, it appears you have done a tremendous job, but i am one of those people, who doesnt feel the job is complete unles i have done it all.
Obviously other people dont feel like me, so this is a good thread for them.

the ammount of times ive seen the words 'Grays scores' followed by '<other conference team> scores' '<other conference team> scores' '<other conference team> scores' '<other conference team> scores' and i end up loosing 4 or 5-1

Great tactic. Kept wednesday up in the first season with a basic tactic. Changed to this tactic for second season. Creating loads more chances and winning games by 3 or 4 goals. http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Does this tactic gennerally work well for all teams?
Well worked for Arsenal and Hinkley
Doesnt seem to work for my Leicester City side, 1st season and have only won 2 out of 8 games using this tactic.
Story of the last 3 games
Hull at home
1 - 0 down at half time
57 mccarthy
60 cleberson

74 trundle
won 4 -1
Still 2 points behind fulham but now 5 points clear of third
Millwall away
1 Trundle
30 Cleberson
manage to keep it at this till full time so won 2-0.
With this win I managaed to get Leicester promoted to the premiership with my 100th game in charge!
However Fulham also won
Sheff United home
21 Hume scores
51 Geary for sheff utd
full time - a draw 1-1
Alas fulham lost to leeds 4-3 so i lose the title by a single point!
Pl 46 W 25 D 11 L 10 F 91 A 64 GD 27 Pts 86
Sunderland go through also after 4-3 et win over Portsmouth

cant get this tactic to work with everton. top of the league after 26 games using 433 but do struggle away from home. just got wallopped 5 0 at spurs. cant even win at home with it.

My home form is great with the tactic, but shocking away from home, losing games 4-1 and 3-0 to lowly sides.
I was the best in the championship away last season, home i was play-offs.
i think the tactic is rubbish i got ramage sent off and lost 4-3
I had to adapt it to my players to get really good success, looking at their stats etc., as having someone with 5 dribbling and run with ball turned on will never work.
Mrefc: When the other team go ahead put your fb's on Rwb.
If losing after 60th mniute then change to 4-42 and put everyone except dc's on rwb and forward runs.

I was finding this game very frustating like many, first 2 seasons in league one with Walsall and i finished just outside the drop zone in the first and mid table in the second, used this tactic in the third however and a complete change around in fortunes! finished second to reading on about 86 points!
Yes i feel dirty for using someone else's tactic and i'll go n scrub myself in the shower huddled in a little ball, but hey ho, whatever gets results!!

I have played a game extra then most teams but I am 4th - this is crazy, I was only given 625k to spend i managed to get 2 16 yr old brazilians a DL and DR costing 200k each, and lula on loan for season, I've even managed to beat arsenal 2-1!

hi ntfc ive been away for a while but i finally got grays into league 2 and im currently 6th which isnt bad. If it does this well with a crappy team like grays it should be fine with a team like man utd or milan.

However i got given 2.1mil and told to avoid relegation, managed to get 21y ear old brazilian keeper and kim kallstrom on free transfers, i need a striker though to add more depth up front.

Its charging, but neil mellor is transfer listed but not sure hes reliable. Let juan pablo angel leave on a free as i couldnt rely on him to score, he played about 11 in 2 seasons after coming on a free, and stats were declining rapidly.
Cant get lula to come back on loan, he was my top scorer last season from mc!!

hmm... im not sure whether to continue my grays game or apply for a position at another club. (a better one in a higher division) If i move will the tactic stay the same or will i have do it all again?.

Started a new game with this tactic as leicester city and bought some different players at start of game.
Won the Championship first season and currently sitting 5th in the prem after a dozen games.
Still getting the odd hammering away from home or conceding late in the game but overall seems to work well.
LCFC - Cleberson seems to be doing well for me, on the bench until he's a bit older but a good back up for Fryatt/Hume.
Managed to get Scholes(200k), Pires and Bakke(free's) for first season in Prem.
Also Cedric van der Gun(AM/F r/c) free from Dortmund after first season is doing well as a back up for me.
Mcol well done i am worknig on the defence hopefully i will improve it and try gonig defensive late on.

I managed to buy Lula in the jan window during season 1. Also bought a cracking defender - Vagner Leonardelli, cant remember how much but very cheap. Blew most of first seasons money on Billy Jones, a cracking buy who can play anywhere in defence or midfield.

How much of a budget did you get at beginning of 3rd season LCLC?

Im in the prem now first 7 games i have won 4 drew 1 and lost 2.
went through uefa cup group stage - 3win 1 draw got kiaselatern in next round, howver my league form has dipped but managed to get a 3-0 win against arsenal, im curretnly 7th wiht my aim being 6th and higher.
tactic is good but it is also very inconsistent for example won 3-0 against southend lost 5-2 to chesterfield
Have you only tested two games?
This tactic working a treat now, finished 2nd season with Leicester. 5th in Premeirship and won the FA cup.
The board gave me 9m for the new season!

I seem to have a bit of form at the moment laursen as not even been ingured for me yet but i have only played about 20 league games
still got shane but my strikers are starting to bang now so im just gonna have to leave him out and hope he dont get hacked off
Finished 7th - bad resulkts in last couple of games meant a very strong man city went ahead
FA cup - Quarter final - birmingham won on penalties grr

well done, the tactic is doing well for me in league 1 with grays, im top by 16 points! in january. so hopefully i will go into the championship and then into the premiership. At first i was going to move to a bigger team but now i want to carry on and take them to success, Only problem is i still cant get good players with them.

Started as Shef Wed and was in bottom 3, when i started using this tactic, ended up just missing out on play offs, just started 2nd season p4 w3 d1 (the drawn game i got 2 men sent off with in 2st 20 mins, final score was 3-3)
Just working out how get good free & cheap players. (eg loans, out of contract etc.)
Spent all my Money on a keeper, (Helton) lol

I was so close to over turning my 3-0 away loss to hamburg, went in the break 3-0 up, they then score mid-way through second half and i could only score 1 more so 4-4 out on away goals.
I might start a second game with a big side so i can have some money to play alongside this game, probably between; Barcelona, AC Milan, Chelsea (probably wont do england), lyon would be interesting too.

Lyon are very enjoyable,managed them on fm2006 on the pc.

just finished 3rd season with Leicester City using ntfc's tactic. After my 5th place in the prem and fa cup success of season 2, i had a bit of a disappointing saeson in the prem, finishing 13th. Saying that i did win the uefa cup and lost in the league cup final.
Finding in the prem that i'm conceding alot of 2nd half goals despite changing the tactic to defensive etc. tried putting the squad on fitness training for a few weeks but didnt really make a difference. Any tips on training?
Roll on season 4, been given 18.75m to spend on top of the 2m i had left from season 3.
Hmm when leading around 60th minute just tick counter attack and take forward runs off mc's and fb's.
Training keep it normal.

In all fairness to ntfc's tactic, it isnt a tactic that makes you unbeatable but does provide a good solid base to work from.
I've found that i need to have good pacy wingers and at least one solid tackling midfielder for it to work well.
it works, more creative , thank god !
owrks better against smaller teams and i lose against manu and liverpool.
does anyone change tactic slightly to suit different games ?
When i was managing Portsmouth against the" big boys" i would put emphasis on defensive and tick counter attack.

i had something like that created my own tactic as 4-4-2 diamond. My AM did this(Ismael Aissati) scored a bomb scored in first full season something like 48 in 46 games. But i also conceded loads as well. and then it just wouldn't work in some games??
its consistant for me i scor elike 5-6-7 goals a game and conced 1 or 2 rarely. I won every comp i was in.
Did you make ay changes to the tactic whilst managing Hinkley. I tried tactic with Burton and wasnt very impressed. Struggled in League 2 but when changed to the default 4-4-2 I went straight up?

Just got the game today. Half way through first season and sit atop L1 using this tactic (with Doncaster after being asked to avoid relelgation).
Notice I score a heck of a lot of early goals as well. (1-5 minutes)
Only slight tweak I made was giving my wingers a bit more freedom as they are my better players and taking a bit of freedom from my CM's as they are more holding players anyway.
Early days for me but looking good.
