Les Girondins
Solid state HDD will change everything in a year or two anyway. Biggest technological leap forward in computing since the Pentium.
Eugster
I would say so yes. I am running 40,000 players with 4gb ram, and it is flying!!! How maany stars did you get for speed when starting the game.
tottenhamfmo7
Mine sometimes, freezes for about a second when pressing the Continue button. Running: English Prem (playable) and 10 other nations, only top league, view only. With large database, can't remember how many players it loaded. I've got a Intel Core 2 Duo CPU 2.40GHz, with 3GB RAM.
mimland
I'm really surprised at how fast the game is on my laptop. AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-58 1.9 GHz, 4GB RAM, Nvidia 8600 GS graphics. Haven't played it on my desktop yet but I'm guessing it will be quiet abit faster on that one. dave byrd
The game processes at lightning speed with my 3ghz dual core and 4gb of ram but i find the ui very slow and unresponsive at times. This is most noticeable when flicking between player profiles and the tactics screen. It literally takes 2 seconds to go from the player profile back to the tactic screen. It's far worse than 09 and they had said the ui would be quicker....well....it aint for me!!
dave byrd
Mine sometimes, freezes for about a second when pressing the Continue button. Yep mine too. Lots of random little freezes throughout the game. UI is very clunky and slow in general.
Maidel
appart from a freeze when I hit the 'continue' button (Its not really a freeze, but it takes a few seconds for the game to darken and the processing bar to pop up) I have 4 gig of ram and I assume that helps, but I see that other people have the same and still have the issues - how many leagues and how large a database - because I assume that makes a difference (less players = less people to search through when you click on a link)

It seems to freeze even before before it starts to process. It's really annoying me to be honest.
DanBad
yeah same here, i thought it was my laptop but one moment its very fast then slows when processing fixtures. with regards to the star ratings, iv heard they are flawed
tottenhamfmo7
Yep mine too. Lots of random little freezes throughout the game. UI is very clunky and slow in general. Yeah, does seem a big mystery as FM 09 works perfectly smooth...
dirtyscarab
I was reading somewhere that because the game is 32bit, it can only handle 2gb ram, so getting more than 2gb just for FM only would be pointless. (although don't take my word on that, I just remember something about it)...

Maidel
If you are refering to the vista 32bit cant write to all the ram - well the cut off is somewhere around 3.3gig of ram - to use more than that effectively you need a 64bit programme/ operating system. TheGulls
Just what i though 4gb is around £80 now a days If you buy the gold plated RAM £80 is quite cheap, I suggest shopping around and you will half that price. !
