aggersleftpeg
Just noticed there are three different types of Sugger Daddys this year. Foreground, Background and Underwriter. Anyone no the difference in the long term for each type? By the way Chelsea have a Underwriter and Man City/Notts County have a Foreground.
afced7
Well I would have said that the foreground/background thing would be to do with how much media attention they got and stuff, but obviously, nobody knows who is actually behind Notts County so its probably not that. I would guess that underwriter means that the club spends the money but whatever they spend is guarenteed by the owner, like how Chelsea actually have massive loan debts but it is all to Abramovich (don't know if that is still the case)
the-div
# "Sugar Daddy Type": # FRONT_END - They throw money at the club to spend. # BACK_END - They spend enough to make them a force in their current league but if they go up a level or two it would no longer apply. # UNDERWRITER - They don't give the manager any extra transfer budget but come the end of the season they will always cover any loss the club is making and not expect the money back. reddevil0728
# BACK_END - They spend enough to make them a force in their current league but if they go up a level or two it would no longer apply. what you mean by that? Paggioram
So the Notts County chairman will not invest constantly if they are promoted to League one or Championship because if that is the case it is wrong because they have made it clear that they will continue to spend. afced7
Notts county have FOREGROUND, so the owners will continue to spend
