Hazzydeepy
It could happen but i dont know why Man utd. are the away team.
Ashley_Tofte
Man United are away because the stadium was chosen at start of the compitition, then the draws are also random so Man Utd were drawn away. If that makes sense

canvey!!
In real life would they move it to a different stadium? Or would they make sure it isn't possible for this to happen by first selecting a stadium of a club not in the Champions League?

Kain
It was possible for this to happen in 2003 iirc, but Man Utd didn't make it to the final.
daemonic
I think the game is played at the choosen stadium no matter who is in the final. The 1984 final between Liverpool and Roma was played at Roma's home ground, Stadio Olimpico. Its an unlikely occurence, but it has happened.
Bruce Drundrige
It's happened a few times. Feyenoord being a recent beneficiary I seem to remember. In fact Old Trafford was the venue in 02/03 so it could feasibly happened then. It's the Bernabeu in 2 years time so expect a big campaign from Madrid then... llama3
simply down to chance, if you get it lucky you but the stadiums for the final are chosen a few seasons in advance irl

Marquez
Yeah, next year UEFA Cup final will be in Şükrü Saraçoğlu, Fenerbahçe's stadium. FB can get their way through all the UEFA Cup and play the final in Turkey.
DietSpam
I had this with Rangers. I got the the final and it was at Ibrox. I was the home team playing against roma. I won 3-1.
grff
The 2005 UEFA Cup Final was chosen to be at Sporting's home ground (Estádio José Alvalade). Sporting got to the final but still ended up losing it to CSKA Moscow.

Mike7077
The majority of stadiums used for finals are the home of club teams. It's not impossible that such a team could reach a final held in their own stadium.
paulpaps
I once had a Champions League final Vs. Celtic, in Ireland, and I was drawn as the away team. Barely won 3-2. THAT WAS FIXED I TELL THEE!!!
backpackant
<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Originally posted by canvey!!: In real life would they move it to a different stadium? So it wouldn't technically be a "home" crowd vs an away one. Except on FM - we all know how "fixed" the game is at neutral venues. It's not paranoia at all. OrangeArrow
Not only liverpool won in 1984, they were even considered the "home" team, despite playing in Roma stadium.
