d3dx9_41.dll was not found when loading editor

First of all, I'd like to say that this is the first time I've ever had a problem with a new release of Football Manager, so well done so far SI.

Unfortunately, for reasons I cannot fathom, the game itself and the editor wont load.

I get the following error:

"This application has failed to start because d3dx9_41.dll was not found."

I have installed the 10.1 patch and has tried reinstalling FM twice. Direct X has been installed from the CD and computer restarted.

No change.

Any ideas SI?

Incidentally, just noticed that the game itself will also not load!

Try getting Direct X from here and installing: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&displaylang=en

I had the same problem and solved it by downloading this: http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?d3dx9_41 and following the instructions provided.

I downloaded the file put it into my system folder and its worked fine since
