i'm playin as wolves and i'm conceding far too any goals. scoring isnt a problem cos i've scored the most in the league but also conceded the most. Here's the team and player instructions. Please let me know if anything looks a bit dodgy to you.

I've had very little success with tight marking, mate. First, try taking that off. If you need to man mark anyone set a specific person to that task.

My own standard settings are default unless stated differently below:

Team:

Closing down = Own area only

Defensive line = deep

Marking = zonal

Creative freedon = mixed

Full backs:

Forward runs = mixed

Closing down = always

Centre backs:

Forward runs = rarely

Closing down = team

Opposition instruction:

CBs and GK = always close them down.

You need to tweak these a bit depending who you are playing. For example if you are up against Christiano Ronaldo you set his opposition instructions to "close down - never" otherwise he skins you time and again.

I've not put any attacking options on here because you say you have that sorted, but it also depends heavily on your players. I use short, attacking with "counter attack" ticked, but that's in a 4-3-3.

I'd also advise some sort of DMC, either sat in that position or - more effectively IMO - with an arrow from the MC position.

Each team is different, as is every opponant. If you haven't sussed the a counter-tactic to the AI's 4-2-4 (at the end of games when losing narrowly), I use a 4-5-1 with short slow passing, ultra defensive, a DMC and little creativity with max time wasting. Works a treat.

Good luck.

didnt read the the full post but the first thing i noticed was attacking mentality and counter attacking. i dont think this does anything to help your team your best un-selecting counter attacking.

the best advice i can give is to read the tactics bible, it may be long and a bit of a bore but there are some great tips and top notch info in there, even if you just skim to find a good defensive section.

moodster read wwfan's tactics and theoreoms framework in the tactics and training thread - i absolutely swear by that its brilliant, helped me make a few tweaks to tactics to become super-successful.

cheers. is that for lower leagues </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

It got Leeds up consecutively, but needs a lot more tweaking at top level.

I found direct passing works best in the Championship, but that's probably how my players work best.
