Transfer Budgets Disabled.

My friend always disables transfers in the first transfer window as he considers it `cheating`.

This is the current squad..this is the squad such team has began with so it should remain this way till the Jan transfer window.I can see his point,but i do not agree that it is `cheating` if i dont disabled it.

What are your views?

Its neither cheating nor not cheating- it is an option to allow the user to select the degree of transfer reality he/she chooses.

I also disable transfers because I feel it adds to the realism

I dont disable transfers becausse i like to start lower down the leagues, so i find that whatever team i manage they always need a little touch.

I think it's pretty pointless if you manage in Blue Square north/south because most signings are on free transfers.

I have been looking at various posts throughout the forums,on the Liverpool threads especially..people have sold practically the whole squad,15 out and 8 in..so yes i do believe that by disabling it,it adds the realism

I always disable transfer budgets, because i like the realism and challenge of working with the actual current squad that the real life manager has until the jan transfer window opens.

I don't consider it cheating, but if your friend does, then it is his prerogative to play it that way. I'm sure most of the folks on these forums have their own "house rules" of what is allowable for them.

Its not cheating really, its you're friends preference to disable it. If you want realism, then you wont disable it, because in the Summer window, Transfers happen - especially when there is a new manager

Well my favorite club is Chelsea - so unless I want to be stuck with the same squad for a long time, I better be able to make some moves preseason. I realize this is kinda cheap, considering I have the hindsight to know I won't be able to make transfers in the upcoming two windows and thus can spend all my money now, but it's compensation for being handcuffed for the next year I suppose...which I shouldn't be punished for wanting to manage my favorite club due to actions out of my control.

Maybe your friend should manage Chelsea on FM10

For sure it's not cheating. It is a bit more realistic, yet it takes away too much fun for me to ever consider using it.

Try managing Newcastle without transfers. Its worse than real life. This is a game and if you want realism then stick with your squad. But other squads will change so just enjoy the challenge.

whats' football manager about?? to form a team you want? so why disable it? thats my point of view. Please don't get offended!
