Blacksquare
Do you think SI will adopt custom dbs in order to expand the game? There are several publisher/developers who adopt/sponsor/buy works of modders. So could SI adopt several of these dbs to expand the game? Or will it just go the way of regular mods and just expand the life of the game? Maybe SI will hire some of the mod teams like BF2 w/ Desert Combat. neevesc
They hired Michael Nygreen, after he impressed with an unoffical editor he created a few years back.
Da_Funk
No they can't. If a community makes (example) J-League dbs/competitions with real names and so on, they can't include it in the sold game because they don't have the rights.
backpackant
Do you mean things like the 1980 season, or various leagues where they don't have a licence? There are a lot of people doing a lot of good work making databases independently. I enjoyed a "legends" database with FM09 - George Best as a 16 year old, Pele at 19, Bremner at 28 even Beckham aged 23. Really good fun. But I seem to remember SI saying they can't licence a lot of these officially.
