Retire madness in FM10?

Will players always retire insted of playing lower league or just as amature in a division club? In FM 09 players retire when have been out of contract in a year insted of find a smaller club. I can see why old former worldclass players would only sign a contract with a fairly good team and retire if they can't find the right club for them, but also players who is going into ther best football years retire insted of finding a lower club after months with no contract.

I hope this have changed, after all it is more fun and realistic if the real players stay in the game and retire 30+

Agree, I would big for half decent young players, a not too bad wage to be honest and they always chose to retire instead!

They all have trials at the glenn hodle academy and they pick the ones with a future and retire the ones who have no potential

I agree, surely some club is better than packing it in all together

Many retire but then appear later at a very small club. Paul Brayson played for Durham for a while and then Blyth. Chris Carr (former NUFC reserve player) also played for Durham when many think he may have left the game. Most reserve players move down the leagues to stay in the game. This will hopefully happen and allow lower sides the opportunity to get better players. It does happen quite regularly.
