Grimoz
Your card is a low end video card, they are not really designed for gaming, more for watching HD movies and so on.
Sprooly
Your card is a low end video card, they are not really designed for gaming, more for watching HD movies and so on. ah ok kk should i look to get a new graphics card?
Grimoz
If your planning on gaming then I would say yes look into a new card, but if your only playing FM then I dont think you will need one. Also having more RAM in your system can also speed up gameplay. If you opt for a new card on a budget then I would recommend picking up a Geforce 9600gt or a Radeon 3650, should play anything you throw at them, and they are a pretty good price. Sprooly
oh ok yeah im not that much of a gamer just fm I have 4gb of ram i think
MECAP
playing @ smallest possible window or full screen @ 1024x768 is OK ? if yes, then you have less than 512Mb dedicated video memory if you have 512Mb video memory, then look for updating directX and drivers(pick some older drivers, ati are crap @ drivers)
Darren_HR
I have a quick question as I am not too knowledgeable with computers. I am upgrading to a ATI Radeon 4890 from a stock Dell video card. Will this increase the speed of my FM or will it just improve the graphics? My desktop is a Dell Q6600 Quad with 4 GB RAM on Windows 7. Thanks for any help! FrazT
Processor and RAM affect the game speed- the graphics card will only affect the appearance
Darren_HR
Thank you, much appreciated!
Grimoz
Darren HR with those system stats you should be rocketing through FM with no worries at all. Video card would pretty much be for cosmetic increase only.
DanGLiverpool
How would you reckon this would do for FM? Intel Quad Core Q8200 2.33 GHz 6MB 1333 MHz LGA776 4096MB DDR2 Memory PC 6400 800 MHz GeForce 8400GS 1024 MB PCI-Ex HDTV Graphics Card 1000 GB SATA-2 3.5" 7200 rpm Hard Drive Not entirely fussed about graphics tbh. Grimoz
DanG that should be super fast for FM. Graphics arent a big deal but your processing speed is great and you have plenty of memory.
DanGLiverpool
Good to know. Now to convince my Dad it is worth getting it
Grimoz
If your gonna spend cash on a machine like that then you might as well throw in a decent graphics card too, try the Geforce 9600GT
