arsenal_2111
9.6/10 and 5/6 are both very strange numbers for ratings aren't they?
stevie_G_32201
9.6/10 and 5/6 are both very strange numbers for ratings aren't they? would 9.6 would convert to 96% but the 5/6 one yes that rather is.
NepentheZ
5/6 is 83%. Why is that any more strange than 9.6 being 96% ?
arsenal_2111
Not sure if you want FMH reviews too, but seeing as there is no thread over there for it; http://www.newsshopper.co.uk/leisure/4702889.Game_review__Football_Manager_Handheld_2010___Sony_PSP/
stevie_G_32201
5/6 is 83%. Why is that any more strange than 9.6 being 96% ? well reviews out of 10 are quite common, reviews out of 6 are not.
digsy11
The only strange number I see in them reviews is Champ Man getting 8/10 By that logic FM should get a 12!
NepentheZ
Agreed. However, if you're translating all reviews to a %, then it makes no difference if they suggest it as 5/6 or 8.3/10 , surely?

nev147
Huh? Don't get what you mean there stevie... Hes agreeing withyour previous post. When translating then it does not matter but when you see a rating it should be easy to understand so comparisons are easier.

stevie_G_32201
if you translate the numbers either 9.6/10 or 5/6 over 10 into a percentage that people can understand easier then no it doesnt matter what the numbers are. EDIT: just blame arsenal
nev147
Oh right, yeah, I see. Cheers nev No worries. Some very positive reviews there! I loved this quote 'Divorce lawyers must be rubbing their hands in glee.'
Toothless Gibbon
5/5 from the Mirror? No surprise there.... Not saying it doesn't deserve it, of course.
SI Staff Miles Jacobson Posted October 27, 2009 Author SI Staff Share Posted October 27, 2009 Norweigan reviews are often out of 6. Don't know why. We just got another one in from Norway, which was also 5/6.
Mike7077
Only 5? Sometimes there's just no pleasing those Norwegians.

Mr_knutsen
Norweigan reviews are often out of 6. Don't know why. We just got another one in from Norway, which was also 5/6. In 1952 a journalist in Norways biggest daily newspaper started "throwing a dice" in his reviews. The following years more and more newspapers, magazines and tv-programs followed, and to day "the dice" is the most used reference in reviews in Norway. JonPaulWild
Good or bad, I hardly take reviews that seriously. There was that whole issue with Gamespot a while back and I've read that various developers or publishers do some kind of presentation about the game to the reviewer which is a bit rubbish, and it never says how long they've played it or how far they've got etc etc. I prefer to go off what people on Internet forums say to be honest at least that way you can really take the good and bad. Milk Lizard
I prefer to go off what people on Internet forums say to be honest at least that way you can really take the good and bad. Yeah me too. Gaming press have been really really bad the last couple of years and it's only going downhill, i pretty much only listen to people on forums and friends now.
