how to defend against 4-2-3-1

Recommended Posts

^ what he said, but in any case, I would play with a DM and hold a relatively high defensive line. You could possibly have one central defender man-marking the lone striker. Consider in the opposition instructions having tight marking and easy tackling on the striker. I'd also be tempted to have my fullbacks pushing forwards as they will struggle to defend two wide players pushing forward on each side. I would leave focus passing on normal though.

Set many of your players to try through balls as well.
