Past Experience-Automatic?

Quick question, If you choose automatic on past exp it means it changes as you play (moving up and down) but if you choose any of the other options ex. sunday leaguer does that mean for your whole career game it stays at the selected choice never moving up or down?

As far as I understand it, Automatic adjusts your reputation to roughly a suitable level for the club you start at?

I know for sure if you pick a reputation at the start it does change with success/failure.

It means your starting reputation will match the average club reputation in the league you start. For example if you choose to manage Villa in the EPL you will have a high rep; if you choose a team in the BSN you will have a low rep.

I swear that doesnt work though - i'm pretty sure i've picked Man Utd with automatic rep selected and then it saying in my messages at the start that a relative unknown has taken over.

ahh yeah - just noticed i should of looked at my rep lvl - which is set to regional if you select automatic and choose Man Utd - surely it would have to be national for most of the Premier league managers though?

I thought selecting automatic sets it the same as the lowest playable league you have selected.

And in response to the OP, your past experience won't change as the game goes on, because it is "past" experience - but your reputation will change as the game goes on.

Never choosen that rep before so can't be certain but I think it would be something like unproven or similar. I also think doing this and picking a club like man u to manage would make the game very difficult. I think if you failed to meet the boards minimum expectations then it would probably mean instant dismissal even before the end of the first season.

I just set-up a game with the 3 german divisions loaded in 09, and created automatic reputation managers at Bayern and Sandhausen in the 3rd division. The Bayern one was National, and the Sandhausen was regional?

By taking over Bayern, I imagine his reputation was immediately boosted up to national.

This is exactly my understanding else you'll have a player mutiny on day 1 because you have such a low rep in the instance you manager an EPL side with leagues down to BSS

I always assumed 'automatic' was the lowest level and Ex-International obviously the easiest....

Automatic is not lowest. Automatic is random.... Sunday League is lowest... Because of This if you not open the leagues accept sunday league it is greyed out...

Correct - if you start unemployed.

Whereas if you load down to BSN/S and choose a EPL team to manage you'll get a high reputation on automatic, despite having the lowest league selcted.

I still have to understand anyway if the reputation changes accordingly to your yearly results of if it never changes through years despiting good or bad results. That would be a shame indeed.

I've choosen Spain as the only country.

Should I choose automatic to get the lowest reputation?

I'm guessing the reputation of the lowest level of Spanish football (Regional) is deemed as the parallel to the reputation to Semi-Pro and thus if you had a Sunday League reputation no-one would let you near their club.
