Deltaroad
Looking at the new PPM. There are options for us to teach players on 1. "Be more forceful in tackles" 2. "Run with ball" 3. "Hug touchline" 4. "Cut Inside" 5. "Move to channels" 6. "Try Killer Ball when possible" 7. "Mark Opponents tightly" 8. "Try long Shots" 9. "Get forward when possible" 10. "Try to play simple passing game" Do I teach them these or do I tell them? 1. Set instructions to hard tackle 2. Set instructions run with ball 3. Set instructions hug touchline 4. Set instructions cut inside 5. Set instructions move to channels 6. Set instructions try through all often 7. Set instructions tight marking - yes 8. Set instructions try long shots - often 9. Set instructions run from deep 10. Set instructions passing - short What's the difference? I might as well tell a player to cut inside rather then take 6 months for them to learn it? - PPM useless now?
Recury
From what I've read, the PPM's will always override your tactics. You can set a player's instructions to play a lot of long balls, but if he has the "Plays short, simple passes" PPM he's not going to do it (or he's not going to do it as often as he would otherwise). Robbie S
He won't simply ignore your instructions Recury, if you tell him to play it short and he has a PPM of plays long passes he will listen to you. He will however play longer balls more often than a player who does not have that PPM
Recury
OK, good. That's probably better.

There isn't a benefit of teaching ppm if you can tell them, right? Only things you can teach and be beneficial is things like round the keeper, shoot with power. RT--
A PPM is still going to increase the probability that they try that particular move, given all the other options they have at a given moment in the game. A player with 'tries long shots often' will, I imagine, take more long shots over a season than someone without that instruction, even if both are set to long shots = often.
