themoffster
This was mentioned years ago in these forums (probably CM4 time), but with the inclusion of this analysis tool that we have i can't help notice that the number of tackles made in a match by all players (mine and oppositions) is really, really low - like 5 at the most for a player. Surely this is wrong - I would expect it to be ~20 for a midfielder IRL.
MSCCG
I didn't have any statistics to prove it, but I felt the same way when I saw the stats. Maybe a block is not a tackle? Or something like that?
SI Staff PaulC Posted October 15, 2009 SI Staff Share Posted October 15, 2009 Well I dont know how OPTA or whoever define a tackle, but I am pretty sure the average midfielder wont put in 20 tackles per game.
x42bn6
For 2007/2008, Nigel Reo-Coker made the most tackles in the Premier League (178, 79.78% successful) and played 36 games for an average of just under 5 attempts a game. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/may/14/premierleague3 http://soccernet.espn.go.com/players/stats?id=21094
Mazaveli
Is a tackle classed as a fully-fledged sliding tackle? Or can it be a barge off the ball, poke a leg out kind of thing?
saint_clark
I once had a CB who made 34 tackles in one game, but he was a phenomenal regen and they had Torres up front, so he had every reason to be busy.
