Student Boy
When you have downloaded the demo from steam, is the only way of playing it whilst connected to steam? since downloading steam to my laptop its become very unstable.
anagain
In FM09 you could always go to the applicable folder within the Steam application files and click on the FM09.exe logo to start the game without Steam. I assume you can do the same for FM10. Unstable in what way? Steam has never caused me problems.
leumd
There is an option in the File menu to go offline. You could try that before starting up the demo. I must say though that I would be very surprised if Steam is in any way affecting your system. It is incredibly lightweight, and in no way resource hungry although it does tend to hog the processor for 5 seconds after it starts up =)
Neji
Yea, goto your FM2010 Demo directory and launch fm.exe - that way you don't need Steam.

Neji
I don't use Steam, so I'm not sure. It will probably be in your Steam directory somewhere. Someone who uses Steam will no more, anyone?
Administrators Neil Brock Posted October 14, 2009 Administrators Share Posted October 14, 2009 You can play it without loading up Steam by doing the following: Go to C: Program Files - Steam - Steam Apps - common - Football Manager 2010 Inside this folder you will find the FM10.exe Create a shortcut here, and drag it onto your desktop The game will now work without running steam - make sure Steam is NOT already running when you do this. Macque
"football manager 2010 demo 10.0.1.f81701 has stopped working" This is what I get when I try to run it. I'm running it through Steam. I've downloaded all the latest DirectX, Java and 3d Accelerator drivers. I'm running a quad core monster with Vista 32-bit. 3D Card is a GeForce 7900GTX and I have 4 gig of RAM. I've tried it in offline mode, I've tried running it directly from the .exe in the steamapps folder, I've rebooted a thousand times.. Does anyone have any ideas at all?? HELP ME!!!
