T3hB3n...
I'm Arsenal, 3rd season, just come out of January with about 5 new players key to my first team. I've recently reached the first knockout round of the CL, only to find these players aren't allowed to be included in my squad? Is this normal? If so, why? Sanderholm
Probably they have all represented their former team in some European competition.
DanGLiverpool
Probably cup-tied (I.E. they have played for another team in the CL/Europa Cup in the same season)
Lloydey
Because they are cup-tied? Have they played for another club (i.e. the club you purchased them from) in the Champions League this season.
vasilli07
Did you register them? If yes, did they play for another CL/UEFA cup team before you sign them?
uusinjsh
If they were registered for any other team that is in CL or EL, they can't play for you.
T3hB3n...
D'oh! All of them played for a team a european competition... every single one of them
Magnakai Haaskivi
I'm sure they're cup tied, but shouldn't it say "Cup", not "Ine"?
reflection22
In real-life though, you'd be allowed to register 1 of them, provided they had only played in the UEFA Cup that season and not the Champions League. That's been the rule since 2007/08, like when Anelka played for Bolton in the UEFA Cup in the first half of that season, and then Chelsea in the Champions League in the 2nd half of the same season, after joining them in January. Suprised this rule hasn't made it into FM yet, hope it will be in this years version.

If that's the rule (which it very well may be; I think Real Madrid had a similar issue with Huntelaar last year), why didn't Arsenal register Arshavin? reflection22
Because he had already played for Zenit in the Champions League in the first half of the season. If had only been the UEFA Cup he had played in, then Arsenal could have registered him. If that's the rule (which it very well may be; I think Real Madrid had a similar issue with Huntelaar last year), why didn't Arsenal register Arshavin?
