FM10 Setting up player roles

I see that on the new game you can define a players role i.e have Pirlo playing as a deep lying playmaker now the question is when you set that role does it just get set into your tactics or does that setup the player so for example if he isn't playing and i have an attacking player in his position will he automaticlly assume the settings i have for Pirlo or can I define his own and save them to the player so i don't have to mess around constantly with my tatcic everytime i play someone else in another position ??

You will have to change the AMC to something like advanced playmaker and then back to deep lying when you put pirlo back in
