qwertman
I'm not talking about in real life, but in terms of the match engine, what is the difference and what are they used for? For example, target man holding up the ball, balance or strength more important?
Fabio MVP
Strenght. Balance for wingers.
Ackter
Both are needed. One thing people don't realise is that balance is important for pretty much everything in the game - a 19 finisher isn't going to be much use if he's always off-balance for example. PGB_SPURS_FM09
Guess Strength is best if you want some1 to hold it up. David Villa has balance 11 yet he scored 42 goals in 43 games(5 sub)... Though i would have thought that it should be higher lol

impirion
Would guess FM since he is nowhere near that prolific in real life.
PGB_SPURS_FM09
Sorry didn't specify but as the thread was referring to FM i was also talking about FM. He played upfront on my Valencia save lol. That was in all competitions
BornInTheLoo
Fabio_MVP is right. If I remember correctly balance is useful for players running with the ball and helping them not to tumble over when abruptly changing the course of their run, like wingers or pacey strikers. Strength on the other hand is more useful in close-fought duels at low pace and helps players in posession holding on to the ball, like a target man would do. qwertman
so say a CB is challenging a FW. (e.g. trying to push him off the ball) just ignoring the tackling stat for the sack of argument, would it be the CB's strength vs the FWs strength or the CB's strength vs the FWs balance? fmobande
so say a CB is challenging a FW. (e.g. trying to push him off the ball)just ignoring the tackling stat for the sack of argument, would it be the CB's strength vs the FWs strength or the CB's strength vs the FWs balance? yup i think your right but now adays fws work on their speed instead of streghth if a defender is near you when you recieve a ball the cb won if your far away wanting to do a left or right turn 40-60 that you would win depending on how you can control your speed with the ball and if your faster then the defender defenders have advantages on when they are tackling a fast person : they have a head start they are in front the fws have the ball which makes the fw slower they use these advantages then use their strenght and bully the fw off the ball fws without streaght and with lots of speeds will be harder to play with which you have to do long balls good ones and good long passess and as the for foward is about the postioning
