To SI, will fans in other countries get the pre-order gifts?

Recommended Posts

Most of the companies' small print specify delivery within UK only. I'm getting my DVD + gift delivered to my mum in the UK so she can forward both onto me. Without a UK contact, whether you get the gift probably depends on where you live; within UK maybe - here in the deepest jungle no chance!

Are you living without the game for a while then, or just getting her to ring you with your serial code, pop it into steam and get the game on day of release?

If not already planned, do the latter :-p

Can you explain that bit, r0x0r? I avoided Steam last year so I don't know how it works. If SI sort out last year's fiasco I might well buy it that way.

Can you answer the questions I just asked in another thread:

if I download FM10 via Steam (and it better bloody have the editors in a place easily accessed), what happens if my laptop is nicked or conks out? Can I get it put on another machine? Or can I fully copy the game onto my backup external hard drive to be reinstalled in case of disaster?

Thanks in advance mate :)

Hi,

We offered all the merchandise to all countries, and each market's office decides on whether to take the pre-order incentives. Sometimes the numbers of people ordering from each particular retailer means that it's not possible to offer the gifts to retailers. In the UK it tends to work pretty well as there are a few very big retailers, however in Italy for example there are many small independents and the game isn't as big as it is in the UK, yet!

Apologies to those that aren't being offered these in their countries, be sure to tell your retailer that you would have ordered with them if they had offered whichever gift you like and we can see what happens in coming years

Thanks

Ben

I think what he means is there is an option within steam to activate a product on there and you may be able to download FM from there with your license key.

On the other bit Ive replied in there

If you purchase or activate through steam then you can download the game again on any pc on your steam account. This will of course depend on how many seats we get and/or there being a deactivation URL again. Wont know this until sega make the DRM announcment.

However you buy it, in FM09 you can load up steam, enter the serial key and have one of your four activation seats taken by Steam. Download the game (legally, via steam) and play.

I bought the disk version, but registered it to my steam account to get it onto my netbook, as my external DVD drive was playing up.

However they do activation this year, a code to register it to your Steam Account however you bought it was a fantastic idea.

Anyone who wants a pre order bonus but not at almost twice the price, don't worry. Play, game and the like traditionally come down once someone else does. :-p
