Manager Release Clause

If i get a player to agree to this, does it mean I can sign him for free if i become a manager of another club?

I've never understood what it meant but I only remember seeing it with older players so maybe something like this:

If he is offered to manage a club you have to let him go.

Exactly, that is why I'm not 100% certain

In my Pompey game David James and Sol Campbell both got approached for manager jobs (maybe player/manager but cant remember.) for Wrexham n Rochdale respectively.

Yes - you have to release him to another club if they approach him to be a manager. Its an easy give as it doesn't happen much and by that age they probably won't be a key player.

I think you're the first poster I've ever read who had this. Lloydy makes a fair point, but it would be disappointing if it's a club legend you had lined up to stay on your staff.

In one of my games Arshavin asked for it when he was 33. Bit early to retire and manage isn't it? Are AI player-managers in the game?

Blimey, I don't think Jermain Beckford is gonna become a manager before 2012 lol. Oh well, it can't hurt. then again, if he gets a bad injury he may retre (unlikely).
