Smurf
Real News from Real Football Burnley could give new loan signing David Nugent a competitive debut. The former England international made his Clarets bow in a midweek friendly to raise money for Burnley's cash-strapped neighbours Accrington Stanley. Has me thinking, if you're a lower league club and cash strapped, your successful neighbors could host a game or two with profits going your way. I know you can arrange friendlies yourself, but what about a club coming to you to help you with financial difficulties etc.?
Fabio MVP
If he is your neighbor, then he is probbably your rival, so I doubt they would like to do something like that...

ryan_sacfc
This is a one-off, and SI aren't ones to put one-offs in if you know what I mean. Until it becomes a more regular they won't be putting in trivial things like this, as nice a touch as it would be...
Smurf
Well it's only one instance of it happening. I'm sure there are other smaller clubs that are playing in bigger cities. It could be down to your relationship with the manager or if you have a feeder club or whatever. I'm sure it goes on more than we know. Ah well, it's a nice idea and be handy if you're a lower club seeking finance to organise some charity event to raise funds.
