crustyjuggler
1) What's the difference between a regen and a newgen? 2) Do all of them have an 'animated' face instead of a photo? 3) Do any of them appear on different saves? Or just on one save only? TIA x
Cougar2010
1) They were originally called "Regens" when they replaced a retired player. It was then changed several years ago to "Newgens" as people knew which players would become good. Newgens are created from scratch and are not influenced by retired players. 2) Yes 3) No, every one is individual & unique (Except for a small number SI staff members - see faceinthegame)

celebritykiller
Just to elaborate on Cougars message, there are no "regens" in FM anymore. They are all "newgens", it's just the name "regen" has stayed.
SCIAG
Newgens were related to player retirement, but not directly. FREDs, the current system, aren't related at all. So you don't need a player to retire for a new one to come in.
