players retiring at a young age

has anyone else had the problem if finding players that were released on a free and then refuse to sign with you and then at the age of 24 retire. it annoys me that even if i offer a one year contract or have a tiny minimum release clause they wont come. im not talking about an outrageous signing but say players that are of a championship level not signing for a league one team

Maybe they are playing other sports instead.

Gone on to rugby? golf? basketball? many other sports to try! Maybe they just missed out on their calling by quitting too soon. All their fault, not yours or the game.

Once a person's mind is set it is tough to break.

it happens in real life , therefor is a good feature

no i know that. but surely a player would maybe step down a level in order to continue playing for a bit and with a deal that allows them to move to a bigger team at the end of the year or for a small fee

Yeah, but they might have a better deal playing another sport.

they just give up , being a free agent for too long.

they may do , but you wont be able to see them. they will go on to play for very smaller teams like fleetwood ect.

i had Kerlon and Andy Carroll retire at young ages and i couldn't sign them because i was with a poor club very annoying

I don't think the likes of Ronaldo or Adriano would sign for a League 2 club when their future was not at balance (excluding Notts County ofc).
