triggerluke
Hi guys, Just a quick question. When you start a new game and you untick the option for allowing transfer budgets in the first window, does this: 1. Just simply give you no transfer budget or actually prevent you from being able to buy/sell players? 2. Does it apply to all clubs in the game? (e.g. not just the club I'm in control of but also AI controlled clubs too)
jayahr
1. It should prevent any transfer from happening 2. Yes, otherwise it would be a useless option.
Simms
I could be wrong but I think clubs can still do player exchanges which have no money involved. i.e. straight swaps.
triggerluke
Thanks for the quick replies fellas. I guess next question then, how many of you actually use this option?
jayahr
Not me. I guess very few. It's taking away a big part of the fun out of the first season.
nick1408
just takes away the money. other types of deals can be done (loans, player swaps, free agents)
chigwellboyben
I always start with this unticked as it gives the opportunity to play half a season as it actually is in real life. I like it a lot.
Arijit
I love this option too. Also since I am currently doing dafuge's challenge - this is a requirement.
Martin_
Never unticked it before, do you get a budget given in January?
Arkim
You get a budget at the beginning of the next season if I recall correctly. You can still sign players as long as no money is involved. I personally always have it off so I can keep the game as close as possible to real life squads.
Peachy Bum
I always play with this unchecked! Makes it more realistic, or did before the new season. Although you do get a budget in Novemeber for the January window and if you then agree deals for players before Jan1st and make sure it's all in payments over 24months you can spend hundreds of millions and buy as many players as you like as your budget doesn't decrease that way. Obviously you're then bankrupt by April.
eaglealan64
I use this option a lot - more realistic as SI have already updated all the squads.
mm007
So Free Transfers are doible with this option unticked?
emmett8324
I always have transfers enabled although I dont buy or sell players but I do change the staff and I wouldnt be able to do this without the transfers
Arkim
So Free Transfers are doible with this option unticked? Yes, they are.
humanriff
it basically takes account of the fact that the manager you replace will already have spent money. if you're at a rich club, therefore, and untick the box, you'll still have some. If you untick the box and start at a small club - as I do at Shrewsbury - that season's money is already spoken for, so you don't get to spend it. Simple. Realistic. I'm a LLM'er, but even if I wasn't I'd have it un-ticked, I like things realistic.
