themoffster Posted August 17, 2009 Share Posted August 17, 2009 I tried to sign a young prospect from South America and as he failed the work permit application, the transfer was cancelled - i thought you could still sign them, but they were inelligible for all matches? Septimus Posted August 17, 2009 Share Posted August 17, 2009 I think if you have a foreign/work permit feeder club then you can still sign them although they are unavailable for all matches. rinso Posted August 17, 2009 Share Posted August 17, 2009 Providing you have a WP feeder club, the transfer will go through, regardless of whether the player is granted a wp or not. For a south American, youre best of gettin a Spanish feeder if you can, as it usually only takes 2 years of being on loan for them to gain Spanish nationality, iirc... Unfortunately my Japanese starlet still hasn't got a WP despite having 7 caps, but never mind, only one more season before he gets one from playing in Belgium. rinso Posted August 17, 2009 Share Posted August 17, 2009 yeah thats true, although it tend to be better to send them to Belgium anyway, even if they dont get 1st team games, simply because, by their third year, they can see themselves "too good" to play in that league, and wont go. if that happens, youre up a certain creek without a paddle in terms of renewing their contracts...
