FM05 Crashing on Vista

Whenever I install FM05 on Vista and try to run it, the loading screen comes up and then I just get an error box saying "Football Manager 2005 has stopped Working".

I have tried the compatibility thing and no luck.

Is there any solution out there? I've already reinstalled 3 times and no luck with that either.

Not compatible with vista is the only thing i can think of. Try go to shortcut properties and run it in Windows XP SP2 mode

I tried that, no luck The only weird thing I noticed, is in the program files, it looks like this:

C:\Program FIles\SI\FM05 but in there there is no fm.exe but only a shortcut to fm.exe...not sure if this could be the problem or not?

That may well be it? This is from memory, weren't some of the older computer games launched when you inserted the game disc. That might force it, just a thought. The game might launch that way. Is the executable will be on the disc, possibly you can copy the .exe file from there :/

I have fm05 installed on my laptop with vista and it was fine, can't remember any problems if that helps

@antg1985 - Can you look and see what is in your C\Prog Files\Si\FM05 folder please?

Can u try searching for the exe in the file search?
