Retirement During International Tournaments

I am England manager and want to have David Beckham in my squad for the 2014 World Cup but he is going to retire at the end of the club season, after 2 games of the tournament because he has been dropped from the first team at Man U since i left the club and he wouldn't leave to join Cagliari my current club. I would like to know whether he will actually retire on the set date if i pick him in my world cup squad because i don't want to waste a stop in the team if nobody is filling it. i know he is a bit old at 39 to still be in the England squad but he's my favourite player and i want him to have as many Caps as possible and he is still getting good ratings and goals for England.

As far as i know, the retirement date will reset to when the tournament finishes.
