Coaching question

Recommended Posts

So if i understand correctly, youth coaches only coach youth players, first team coaches only coach first team and 'coaches' coach both.

I tend to just employ coaches, which can work with both, but is there an advantage to splitting it into youth and first team coaches? For example, although my coaches have good stats for general coaching, they are not necessarily great at working with youngsters. Do you suggest i get a couple of coaches in who are not necessarily great bu have good attributes for working with youngsters?

Thanks

Thanks, that's what i assumed, but it seemed a bit strange to me!

Since specialist ones are cheaper to employ, i guess i may be able to attract a better candidate, but if i do a coach and first team coach job advert simultaneously, the same people almost always apply anyway....

Maybe if they accept lower wages i could get a better candidate as first team coach. But if i do coach and first team coach job adverts simultaneoulsy, the same people always apply.....

I never bothered with youth or first team coaches before FM09 but now I find that quite a few of the top coaches (the very very top "World Class" coaches) will only join you as a First Team coach, and will not accept any other role, including Coach.

Moreover, if you do bring one in as a first team coach and then try to get him to sign a coach contract, he will not even entertain the idea, even if he has a higher staff role rating for "coach" than he has for "first team coach".

Odd.
