CFish
I have been thinking for a while now of linking my laptop up to the tv so I can watch movies etc. It made me think about FM on my tv. Has anyone actually done this? Not entirely sure what I would need to link laptop up to tv but im thinking the quality may suffer. Fm touch screen on a tv would be pretty cool too. Though id imagine it be difficult to sort.
typenamehere
I always play fm on a 42" screen it's just the same quality.
Highor
You can simply plug-in your TV on your video card via a HDMI-cable. Then you can simply take the Football Manager window to your TV and play the game. With a HDMI-cable your game won't suffer quality. I Haven't done this with Football Manager though, i have done this with other games such as World of Warcraft & Flight Simulator.
DivineOne
In most tv's you can connect your pc as it was just another monitor. I sometimes do it, works great with a wireless mouse & keyboard. And yeah, it really really kicks ass with flight simulator .
CFish
Sounds mint! How much would I expect to pay for a HDMI cable?
DanGLiverpool
Does it make the matchday experience more realistic, watching the matches unfold on a tv?
Neji
Playign on a TV is no different to playing on a monitor, unless you have a rubbish one The only difference really will be the resolutions.
typenamehere
Does it make the matchday experience more realistic, watching the matches unfold on a tv? If your watching in 2d no But if your watching in 3d! No not really.

typenamehere
It's still pretty good though. I would buy a set of external speakers aswell if you plan on having the sound on.

Suzie MUFC
You'll also need an adaptor for the HDMI cable to plug into your graphics card if it doesn't have HDMI sockets.

DivineOne
Ive heard it damages your tv.Not sure how much truth there is in it, i have no proof. That was thruth 20 years ago. Now parents just tell their children that so they wouldn't play too much on the console.

It is still true as with any still pictures or images that are there for any length of time will cause burn-in on many LCD and Plasma screens, so beware users of trying this. an example is on my tv when it is muted, the partially transcluscent image of "mute" still intermittently moves around the screen to avoid such damage. It makes me confused as to why my tv has a pc monitor socket on it, but i know it causes this
Jops14
^ yeah, on my old Tv when i used to pasue a game of pro evo for a couple of minutes you would end up with that image there for the next few mins.

If you've got an LCD panel, you will be fine.

SniperY2K
Jumping in on an old thread here! When I connect my laptop to the 32" tele I have to change the display to 1176x664 so it fits. Yet when I start up FM2013 it doesn't fit properly... Any ideas? Thanks
SniperY2K
Anyone know how to adjust the display to fit a 32" tele? Can't seem to find one in preferences that fits. Or why it doesn't carry through as the pc displays perfectly on the tv until it loads up FM2013. All advice appreciated

Or why it doesn't carry through as the pc displays perfectly on the tv until it loads up FM2013. All advice appreciated 1. Connect TV to laptop via HDMI cable. 2. Set FM display to windowed mode. 3. Drag FM window to TV. 4. Maximise FM window. 5. ??? 6. Profit.
SniperY2K
Would you mind explaining this a bit more simpler? Ie, how to set windowed mode and dragging screens from one to another Appreciated
SniperY2K
Anyone know how to do the above? Will give it a blast then, all sounds plausible!
SniperY2K
Managed to work round it in windowed mode, not great but it will do. Thanks all
SniperY2K
Further to this, I updated my graphics card driver and it seems to have resolved it without the need for viewing in windowed mode. Thanks all
Wiitastic
I can't do this anymore as I have now got a much older tv than I recently had. There is nothing in the back of this tv that allows me to plug the HDMI cable into. Oh well.
DivineOne
Old tv's don't have HDMI, obviously.
hursty2
What resolution is best on a 26 inch tv screen? The font is a bit small for me and the 3d seems to be a bit 'stretched', so to speak.
