Evidence for Sponsorship Influencing purchasing:

I've had a long think about this (and whether it would actually improve the game) and I've come to the conclusion that it would.

There is no reason why a chairman's nationality, business acumen and interference statistics cannot affect Chairmen simply buying compatriots by the club. I know that interference is the bane of some FM players life, but this is something we have to deal with from time to time.

This is happening now in reality, I think it would be a nice little touch that will actually improve the game (although it would have to be a rare occurence). Chances are we will see deals like this increase (influx of Russians to Chelsea over the past 5 years?) and it should be incorporated into the game.

Naturally, if this is a bit full-on, it could be toned down to Chairman enforcing feeder clubs on a team on his nationality instead of enforced purchasing.

Then further to this, I could argue that sponsorship could be assigned a nationality. This would not need to affect the aesthetics of the kits, there's no need to go into that much detail, simply that sponsors could contribute to a player of the same nationality's wages and again the chairman could enforce a purchase of a player for revenue and merchandising purposes.

What do you think? Good? Sucks? In the same mould of "I think manager's should be able to buy things with their wages" and that kind of rubbish?

I think it is generally a very good idea. I remember on previous versions where we had more chairman interference - demanding big name players be signed or even going off and buying players themselves. If these signings were linked into the nationality of the chairman and/or sponsor i think it would give it a more realistic edge. Maybe reserve these tendancies for the tycoon chairman who would expect more control given the money they're pumping into the club.

Tough one. Think I would dislike the interference but it happens in real life so would be a worthwhile addition.

Abhramovic likes to buy Russians and Man Utd wouldnt have Sun Ji Park (as much as I like him) if he was from North Korea where the population couldn't buy a Man Utd shirt.

Equally I'd like to see teams linked with a 'type' of player. Such as Tottenham always buying youngsters, and Wenger always buying French speaking players (same with Rafa and Spaniards) Portsmouth and Africans while Harry was there is another example. Whether this be linked to club or manager could be set up.
