Dartford F.C. are an English football club based in Dartford, Kent. After finishing as champions of the Isthmian League Division One North in the 2007 - 2008 season, they compete in the Isthmian League Premier Division. They finished in 8th position in their first season (2008 - 2009). Home matches are played at the club's environmentally-friendly stadium, Princes Park, which was opened in November 2006. The club was formed in 1888 by members of the Dartford Working men's club. Dartford's best performances in the FA Cup came in 1936 and 1937 when they reached the 3rd round of the competition. They have also reached the final of the FA Trophy once. (background info from Wikipedia)

Initial Manager Profile (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/profile-8.jpg)

Once again, a club was picked from the lowest playable league in England with the intention of creating a world giant. The initial aim was to win the PL and CL but I am hoping for a bit more than that afterwards. This game was started to try and replicate the career I had with FC United (http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php?t=139330), which was unfortunately cut short.

Again, this is a game I played as part of dafuge's FM09 challenge (http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php?t=62170) and was started with the 9.3.0 patch. Unlike my other two career threads, this is a game which I am currently playing so this thread will be updated with season reviews as they happen.

Dartford - Blue Square South - 2009/10

Predicted to finish 20th, but I just love coming into these situations in this league.

League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-97.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos-36.jpg)

We started strongly and never really looked back, although we had a dodgy patch half way through which allowed Woking to briefly overtake us for spells. Woking then suffered a shocking run in, slipping to third before winning the playoffs.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/fa-1.jpg) - A fairly generous few draws set up our win of the season against Millwall (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/millwall-2.jpg), which was followed by a glamour tie against Arsenal (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/arsenal-11.jpg). This great run has done wonders for our finances, bringing in around £250k which has put our finances in a good state.

FA Trophy (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/trophy-1.jpg) - a terrible result against lower league opposition. I played a weak team but we really shouldn't be losing like that.

Setanta Shield (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/setanta-1.jpg) - a good run but Aldershot (who have since been promoted to L2) were just too much for us.

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-51.jpg)

I pretty much got rid of every existing player at the team and replaced them with talented youngsters. I was quite surprised just how many quality players I was able to sign, which was probably why I ended up signing a few more than I actually needed.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-111.jpg)

This squad was just far too good for this league, with an abundance of League 2/1 quality players the only difficult job I had was keeping them all happy (which wasn't easy, especially with three goal-a-game strikers).

Star Player (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/west.jpg)

My captain dominated the league and would have scored a lot more had it not been for the squad rotation system I had to use. He was the winner of the BSS player of the season and the league's top goalscorer, 10 ahead of second placed Rhys Henry (also at my club).

I'm sure a lot of this squad will make the step up to the BSP so My first job will be to trim it down a bit rather than add to it. I honestly think we are capable of another promotion, so I'll be disappointed if we don't make the playoffs at least.

Dartford - Blue Square Premier - 2010/11

We were predicted to finish 24th but I had a lot of confidence in my team since my players are all considered to be League 1/2 standard by my coaches.

League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-98.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos-37.jpg)

Pretty much dominated from start to finish, I started playing the reserves with a few game to go so we could have easily hit 100+ points.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/facup-4.jpg) - once again we had a good run which took us to the 3rd round where this time we got the big money match we just missed out on last season. Man City (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/manc-1.jpg) were just far too good for us but the match made us a decent amount of money which took our finances beyond the £1m mark.
FA Trophy (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/fatrophy.jpg) - after a scare in the 2nd round we went on to dominate the final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/fatrophyfinal.jpg).

Setanta Shield (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/setanta-2.jpg) - the final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/setantafinal.jpg) was probably the least dominant of the lot for us.

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-52.jpg) - just a few signings, mostly highly rated rejects from the Premier League.
Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-112.jpg) - not sure how this squad will do in League 2 but they are all far too good for the BSP.

Star Player (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/west-1.jpg) - for the second year running he has dominated the league.

Dartford - Coca-Cola League 2 - 2011/12

After two successive promotions we found ourselves in the football league and facing our biggest challenge. I thought this could be the first season where we really struggled as our players are getting closer to the league that fits their standard.

(http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-99.jpg) League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-99.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos-39.jpg)

At first glance this looks fantastic, but the graph picture tells the full story. We had a slow start but soon picked up and by the half way point we led the league and looked like the best team in the league. We had a dodgy patch with a run of tough games but we improved and went into the final game a point clear, just needing to equal Chesterfield's result to secure the title. Chesterfield, who came from nowhere, won 2-1, we drew 1-1 :(

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/facup-5.jpg) - after a fairly easy first couple of rounds, the third round draw gave us yet another glamour tie, only this time we really hit the jackpot. The match (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/manutd-6.jpg) was pretty good, as they rested a load of players we did pretty well and even managed to score a goal with our only shot. The real bonus was the money though, it brought in close to £1m.

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-3.jpg) - a tough draw where we did pretty well to keep the score down.

Johnstone's Paint Trophy (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/jpt.jpg) - a great run that was horribly ended on penalties (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/jptpens.jpg).

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-53.jpg) - with the new scouting regions added it took me a while to get my transfer target sorted so I had to wait until January for the new players to arrive. My scouts rated some of them as potential PL players, although it now looks like they are more like L1 standard. This was the first year I really got to to spend the money from last year's game against Man City.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-113.jpg) - it is still too big thanks to the abundance of L1 quality players who are willing to join us, so there will be another cull next season as I look to find some Championship standard bargains.

Star Player (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/chantler.jpg) - his attributes don't look much but he was magic on the wing chipping in with 9 goals and a shedload of assists.

Dartford - Coca-Cola League 1 - 2012/13

Last season we secured an unexpected promotion from League 2 so this was always going to be a tough season. I had high expectations and kne that my team was capable of a top half finish.

(http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-99.jpg) League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-100.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos-40.jpg)

We had a good start but soon settled down in a position in and out of the last playoff spot. It took until the last day to secure the playoff spot and results elsewhere meant we actually grabbed 5th.

Playoff Semi Final first leg (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/semi1-3.jpg) - we scored after just 16 seconds which put us in a great position, grabbing a second on the break. Watford were pretty poor and wasted their chances.

Playoff Semi Final second leg (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/semi2-4.jpg) - Watford continued to fail to take their chances and we picked them off on the break again to take a surprise win.

Playoff Final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/final-5.jpg) - distaster early on as Blackpool grabbed the early goal. Things looked far too comfortable for them in a dull match until the 79th minute as I made a tactical change in an attempt to chase the game. The change worked as we grabbed an equaliser with our only shot on target. Thirty dull minutes of extra time followed until the inevitable happened, penalties. We didn't deserve to get promoted, but it was still a bit gutting to lose like this.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/facup-6.jpg) - no cup run this year as we were knocked out in an exciting match against L1 Hartlepool.

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-4.jpg) - the usual early exit.

(http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/jpt-1.jpg) Johnstone's Paint Trophy (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/jpt-1.jpg) - got revenge over Luton for last year, then got knocked out.

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-54.jpg) - I spent fairly big this year which might have been a mistake as some of the signings have been disappointing and the club is close to being back in debt after having over £1m in the bank.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-114.jpg) - pretty solid in defence but we just didn't have the firepower to dominate this league. Perhaps next year I can find the striker I have been looking for.

Star Player (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/west-2.jpg) - he's not the same player he was in the lower leagues but he is still just about my star player. I could really do with more than 21 goals from my star striker though.

Dartford - Coca-Cola League 1 - 2013/14

Last season we had the heartbreak of losing the playoff final on penalties so this year I was hoping to go one better.

League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-101.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos-41.jpg)

It was a mixed season that saw a couple of dreadful patches of consecutive losses. In the end the top two ran away with it leaving the rest of us to fight it out over the playoff places. We were just about the 3rd best team in the league but our inconsistency was a worry going into the playoffs.

Playoff Semi Final first leg (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/semil1.jpg) - we just about managed to come away with a win in a tight match.

Playoff Semi Final second leg (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/semil2.jpg) - we looked comfortable until they scored and ended up really hanging on for the draw.

Playoff Final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/final-7.jpg) - we did it again. After taking an early lead we were dominated by Palace, the scoreline actually flattered us.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/facup-7.jpg) - another great glamour tie that brought in around £500k for the club.

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-5.jpg) - a penalty loss to L2 Barnet in a competition we never get anywhere in.

(http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/jpt-2.jpg) Johnstone's Paint Trophy (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/jpt-2.jpg) - didn't really bother with this, gives me a chance to give a few players a run out.

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-55.jpg) - I tried to strengthen the squad with a few youngsters but a few of them struggled this season. I replaced the unhappy goalie which was a bit of a mistake, the new one has been pretty awful.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-115.jpg) - getting there but the quick promotions has meant it is taking a bit of time for my squad to catch up to L1 standard.

Star Player (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/haris.jpg) - no one really stood out but this free transfer was my top goalscorer, even if it was with just 22 goals.

Dartford - Coca-Cola League 1 - 2014/15

My previous two seasons have both ended in losses in the League 1 playoff final, so I was determined to end this run this season.

League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-102.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos-42.jpg)

Things were stupidly tight at the top and as Coventry suffered a dip in form towards the end of the season, we were playing well. Going into the last game of the season we just needed to beat Rotherham, who also had a chance of promotion, to finish second. We very nearly took the title as Blackpool held on to a dodgy draw with Luton.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/facup-8.jpg) - a great run that saw us avoid the big clubs until we met Championship champions WBA.

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-6.jpg) - uneventful.

Johnstone's Paint Trophy (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/jpt-3.jpg) - I put out weak teams to concentrate on the league.

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-56.jpg) - I tried to strengthen the squad with some quality but spending £500k on a backup DM was a big mistake. Humphrey was also a waste of money.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-116.jpg) - I'm tempted to sell a load and rebuild for next year, this lot won't be good enough for the Championship.

Star Player (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/perez.jpg) - my wingers were awesome this season and Perez also grabbed his fair share of the goals.

Dartford - Coca-Cola Championship - 2015/16

After finally gaining promotion to this league, all I wanted to do was survive.

League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-113.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos-45.jpg)

We had a good start but after a poor run of form it was clear that we were going to end up in mid table. Once it looked like relegation was impossible I started rotating the squad and giving all the youngsters games.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/fulham-8.jpg) - it was nice to enter in the 3rd round but we crashed out as soon as we met Premier League opposition.

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-7.jpg) - much like the FA Cup, the Premier League team outclassed us.

(http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-59.jpg) Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-59.jpg) - the players who got us here were not really good enough, so there was a rebuild of the squad at a slight profit replacing them with talented youngsters who may be Premier League quality in a few years.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-127.jpg) - it is very young now but I'm hoping I can keep them all together to take us to the Premier League.

Star Player (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/nuno.jpg) - probably the best of my signings, he played well in what was our weakest position.

After a mid table finish last season I just wanted an improvement on our previous league position.

After a shaky start we hit a bit of form and improved in the second half to secure a playoff spot.

Playoff semi leg 1 (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/semil1-1.jpg) - could have gone either way but that late goal gave us a great chance going into the second leg.

Playoff semi leg 2 (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/playoffs2.jpg) - we were really hanging on and it was only a matter of time before they got their second goal to knock us out.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/fac.jpg) - just the one tie, ending in a penalty loss (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/swansea-2.jpg)

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-8.jpg) - ditto (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/rochdale.jpg)

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-60.jpg) - the usual story, unhappy players were sold an talented youngsters were brought in making a healthy profit.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-128.jpg) - I think I've finally got a group of young players who should be good enough for the Premier League in a few years time. If I can keep them together it should only be a matter of time before we can seriously challenge for promotion.

Star Player (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/madine.jpg) - I was looking for a bit of experience to bring in to my young squad and found this gem of a free transfer.

A poor season. We had a bad start and struggled for consistency until the final third of the season where we got ourselves in a position to make the playoffs, only to have another bad patch in the run up to the final couple of matches.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/fac-1.jpg) - ended as soon as we met Premier League opposition.

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-61.jpg) - we made a decent profit but didn't really improve the team that much. I January I tried to strengthen which helped a little bit but there was still a fair bit of wasted money.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-129.jpg) - decent players, good morale but bad results. The only thing I can think of doing is strengthening the defence for next season.

After a poor season where we took a step backwards this was going to have to be a good season as we desperately needed to be in with a chance of promotion.

At last we got it right. Although we kept up with them and challenged them for the title, Leicester were just too good and pulled away from us towards the end of the season.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/facup-9.jpg) - a tough draw saw us exit the cup early.

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-10.jpg) - our best run ever, but we just couldn't match Arsenal.

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-62.jpg) - a very busy transfer window as I got busy trying to rebuild my squad. We picked up a few great free transfers including the experienced Chris Brunt and then in the middle of August we raked in £10m from the sale of two unhappy players. Although I couldn't find anyone decent straight away, it allowed me to scout the world and bring in a few classy players in January. I know £6.5m was too much but I really needed a PL class defender in Torrico.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-130.jpg) - with a couple of experienced players alongside a rebuilt defence we had a winning side once again. Further improvements will need to be made for next season but they should be good for survival as they are.

Star Player (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/tunon.jpg) - he missed a lot of the season through injury but he was a great signing on a free transfer.

Survival and profit are my two aims, the facilities and stadium still need improving so I'm going to have to be quite tight with the money.

Dartford - Barclays Premier League - 2019/20

After finishing second in the Championship last season this was always going to be a tough season as we attempted to establish ourselves as a top flight side. Survival and profit were the only targets.

League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-117.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos-49.jpg)

We opened the season with home wins over Arsenal and WBA, which made me think we had a good chance of success this season. I was wrong. The final league position flattered us a little bit as after the poor start barring the first two games we looked like quite comfortably like the fourth worst team in the league. A decent run in pulled us up a couple of places but it didn't hide the fact that we were battling relegation.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/facup-10.jpg) - this came at a bad time for us and we got completely outplayed by the club from the Championship.

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-11.jpg) - this could be what caused our form after the first two games to dip. I threw the kids out and we lost in an even match, perhaps next year I will take this competition a bit more seriously.

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-63.jpg) - I was aggressive again in the transfer market and look to offload anyone who wasn't Premier League quality and broke the bank to bring in hot prospects, putting the club over £10m in debt.

Selected player profiles:

Ferhat Eriksen (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/eriksen.jpg) - one of the few long term servants, he's been with us since League 1 and cost us just £20k.

Adrian Hendrie (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/hendrie-3.jpg) - signed two seasons ago for a bargain £700k, although he's not really a first team regular just yet he is described as a wonderkid.

Gavin Johnston (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/johnston.jpg) - similar to Hendrie although not a wonderkid, he was signed in the same year for £425k. Had a shocking start to the season but really hit form late on.

Jermaine Knight (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/knight-1.jpg) - former wonderkid signed on a free transfer after Arsenal oddly released him. I'm still not sure where to play him as I see him as a DM but he's been playing at ML due to lack of competition for the position.

Koen Lennertz (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/lennertz.jpg) - signed from Betis using his £6.5m release clause. Since signing he has become a wonderkid and has attracted bids of £14m from some of the top clubs. He's unhappy about not moving so if the right bid comes I think I will have to sell.

Nicolas Monaco (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/monaco.jpg) - probably my worst signing. When I saw a wonderkid striker who wanted to join us I broke the bank and spent £9.5m on him. He may well prove me wrong (especially if I sell him) but I think it was wasted money.

Bruno Palumbo (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/palumbo.jpg) - one of the signings that helped us to promotion last season. Plays a superb role as an attacking full back and is also handy from set pieces.

Jiri Sevela (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/sevela.jpg) - free transfer signed last season, another unhappy wonderkid who may have to be sold.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-131.jpg) - as always, it is a young squad that has masses of potential for improvement. We don't really have any major weaknesses but I will be looking to strengthen in general for next season.

Star Player (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/lennertz.jpg) - he missed three months with an injury but still remained my top scorer.

The squad is going to take a few more years to mature into a European standard team so all I'm after is an improved league position and some improvements to the club's facilities. Our stadium only holds 11000 and our youth facilities are only average so I'm hoping the board does something about this soon.

Dartford - Barclays Premier League - 2020/21

Last season we were battling with relegation so I was hoping for a decent mid table position this season.

League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-118.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos-50.jpg)

This was a massive improvement as we spent the entire season in the top eight. I wanted to rotate the squad later on in the season but we had an outside chance of making the top four all the way until the final day so we kept the pressure up. In the end we only managed a draw in our final game but Spurs won, snatching the spot from Chelsea on the last day.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/facup-11.jpg) - we started a good run but then got unstuck against Leeds, it looked like we were going to snatch an undeserved draw only to lose in the last minute (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leeds-6.jpg).

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-12.jpg) - in a competition we have never faired well in, we managed to pick up our first piece of major silverware. The run to the final was fairly straight forward, with a great win over Arsenal and a nervy away second leg win over Championship Huddersfield.

The Final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carlingfinal.jpg) - this was a bit of an anticlimax as we made the most of Villa's dreadful finishing to snatch a simple 1-0 win. It also means that Dartford will be in Europe for the first time next season.

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-64.jpg) - possibly the biggest transfer window in the history of the club as we made huge profits on outgoing players then went out and blew it all on replacements.

Selected player profiles:

Steve Allen (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/allen.jpg) - solid wonderkid centre back who wants to leave, I'd love him to stay but I'm preparing to make a big profit on him. Just as I finished writing this post, he asks to be taken off the transfer list and signs a new contract \o/

Daniel Bryant (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/bryant.jpg) - the price was way over the top but he was rated as the only player capable of replacing either of the two centre backs I am preparing to lose.

Andy Martin (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/martin-2.jpg) - the man who gave me the money to burn. Five months at the club and he made us a £24.5m profit, he was good but the money was great to have. Craig Griggs (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/griggs.jpg)stepped up and took his place in the team.

Nicolas Monaco (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/monaco-1.jpg) - this wonderkid was disappointing last season but he repaid me for sticking by him. He managed to grab a lot of goals from the supporting striker role, which is unusual for my team.

Nelio (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/nelio.jpg) - signed to replace Sevela, the wonderkid who joined Real for £20m, I think this wonderkid is actually much better. He had a time when he wanted to leave for a bigger club but I have persuaded him to stay with a new contract.

Saifallah Zitouni (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/zitouni.jpg) - one of the two big money signings who really sparked a turn in the club's form. He was expensive at £30m but the difference it makes with two quality wingers it astounding.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-132.jpg) - the youth revolution continues as the squad now boasts eight players who have been described as wonderkids while at the club. We currently have three players who want to leave, all for bigger clubs. All of them have three or four years left on their contracts so I'm going to keep them and hope to persuade them to stay. If not, their values are rocketing so I should be able to make a massive profit.

edit: Allen and Hendrie have both changed their minds and signed new deals, just leaves Lennertz as the only problem.

Star Player (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/zitouni.jpg) - Andy Martin would have undoubtedly won it if he had stayed so there was a bit of a gap to my next best player, the other big money winger.

Champions League qualification is my target for next season, we unexpectedly came close this season so hopefully we can keep the momentum going and reach the next step. The stadium is the other area I would like to see improved, we are up to 15000 now but that is still well short of what we really need.

Dartford - Barclays Premier League - 2021/22

Last season we had a huge breakthough with a 7th placed league finish and a Carling cup win which meant we would be competing in Europe for the first time. My aim for the league was to qualify for the Champions League.

League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-119.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos-51.jpg)

A superb result although it had a nervy finish. About half way through the season it became clear we were going to be challenging for the title although as we progressed in Europe we started to fall a few games behind Arsenal. They kept winning and we seemed to keep drawing which meant it went down to the final day. Man City were in a similar situation due to their Champions League commitments and bizarrely we played each other on the final day of the season, after everyone else had played their last game. We needed a win to secure the title and we just about managed to get the result. (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/mancity-2.jpg)

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/facup-12.jpg) - a devastating loss to struggling Championship side Swansea. I did mix the team about a bit but we really shouldn't have lost that game.

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-13.jpg) - after winning this competition last season I fielded the youngsters, who Arsenal made easy work of.

Europa League (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/europa-1.jpg)

This was a step into the unknown and after two routine qualifying wins over APOEL Nicosia and FC Sheriff Tiraspol we found ourselves in a reasonable group on the group stage.

Group Stage (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/groupc.jpg) - we had qualified after four games but kept up our efforts to finish top of the group.

1st knockout round (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/1stround.jpg) - a decent 0-0 draw in the away leg meant this was a formality at home.

2nd knockout round (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/2ndround.jpg) - we beat them 3-1 away so this game was just a case of holding on to our lead.

Quarter final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/quarter.jpg) - in possibly the greatest result of our history, we beat AC Milan 4-0 in the first leg which meant we could take it relatively easy in the away leg.

Semi final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/semi.jpg) - almost a carbon copy of the West Ham game as we did our best to protect a 3-1 lead from the away leg.

The final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/final-8.jpg) - even without our star striker we made easy work of Benfica to lift our first ever European trophy.

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-65.jpg) - after the hectic transfers last season we didn't really need to strengthen the team that much. All of the signings were youngsters brought in to cover the first team.

Ryan Caddis (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/caddis-2.jpg) - this was the only significant signing, he was Premier League quality at the game of 16 and just looks like getting better.

Richard Hartley (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/hartley.jpg) - he could be the striker I've been looking for to replace Kennertz.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-133.jpg) - I'm still loking to make small improvements but this squad is young enough and good enough to take on the world.

Star Player (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/monaco-2.jpg) - he filled the gap that Kennertz left when he made his £40m move to Arsenal. I still think he is better in the supporting striker role but he will continue to be the main man until I find someone better.

The Champions League is the obvious target next season but I'm also still hopeful that the board will do something about the stadium. Dartford - Barclays Premier League - 2022/23

As Premier League champions, this season was all about our Champions League début. As Europa League champions, we had a great chance of success, especially with our highly talented and young squad.

League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-120.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos-52.jpg)

Man City challenged us all the way but ran out of steam and started dropping points towards the end of the season, which was lucky really as our form also dipped with a repeat of the unnecessary draws that haunted us last season. The final game of the season became meaningless and the results showed that, as we got hammered 4-1 by mid table Fulham and Man City struggled to a draw with Bolton.

Community Shield (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/commshield-2.jpg) - it was a tight game in our début but Man City probably just about deserved the win.

UEFA Super Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/uefasupercup.jpg) - like the Community Shield, it was a close encounter but we were lucky to be on the winning side this time.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/facup-13.jpg) - we were looking really good for the cup with a solid run until we came undone at the hand of West Ham in the semi final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/facupwestham.jpg).

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-14.jpg) - the kids got a tough draw and got knocked out early.

UEFA Champions League

As champions of England we went straight into the group stage in our début season where we were drawn with Barcelona, Dinamo Kiev and Stuttgart. On paper it looked straight forward enough with us and Barcelona as clear favourites to qualify.

Group Stage (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/clgroup-6.jpg) - it was anything but straightforward as it went into the final day with anyone being able to qualify. We had an easy 3-1 win in Kiev while Barca massacred Stuttgart 8-0 to see us both through.

1st knockout round (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cl1st.jpg) - we met AC Milan last season, thrashing them 4-0 in the quarter final of the Europa league. This was nothing like that, as we needed the away goal to see us through from the two draws.

Quarter final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/clqf.jpg) - the first leg was a classic, with us losing 4-3 at the Emirates. Needing the win we went out and hammered them but only just came away with the win required.

Semi final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/clsf.jpg) - we met them in the group stage where we had a win and a draw and they were out for revenge. A 1-0 loss at home made the second leg tricky and although we took an early lead we just couldn't find a winner after they equalised.

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-66.jpg) - another huge transfer window and alots of money was spent and very little recouped. The last few holes in the squad were filled though so this should be the last of the big spending transfer windows.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-134.jpg) - I'm happy in every position now, so it should just be a case of sitting back and watching them mature and take over the world.

Selected profiles:

Steve Larkin (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/larkin-1.jpg) - looked Premier League quality at just 16 so he could be a future star.

Patrik Ahlqvist (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/ahlqvist.jpg) - not a position I was looking to strengthen after signing Larkin but you can't really say no to a wonderkid like this with a minimum fee release clause of £6.25m.

Raffaele Campana (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/campana.jpg) - a wonderkid from AC Milan who I have been trying to sign for some time now.

Ryan Caddis (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/caddis-3.jpg) - didn't quite have the impact I was hoping but I'm sure there's more to come from him.

Patrick Keil (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/keil.jpg) - another minimum fee release clause signing, stolen for just £10m from Real Madrid. A real quality signing.

Geoffrey Campagne (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/campagne.jpg) - not a planned signing but with Nicolas Monaco out for three months at the start of the season I needed a quality striker to fill the gap.

Star Player (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/keil.jpg) - he ran the show, goals assists, the lot. His average rating looks low but that often seems to happen with the AMC position.

Dartford - Barclays Premier League - 2023/24

After two successive Premier league titles we were going for a hattrick although the real target was the Champions League. After suffering the heartbreak of a narrow semi final loss to Barcelona last year, this season was all about that final push for European glory.

League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-121.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos-53.jpg)

It was a fascinating season as Dartford, Arsenal and West Ham battled it out for the title, with all of them holding on to top spot for periods during the season. West Ham lost form towards the end of the season leaving just us and Arsenal battling it out going win for win in what was hyped as an epic climax to the season. It couldn't have been any better, the last game of the season was going to be Dartford vs Arsenal. Things were looking all set for the final showdown as we won eight games in a row and Arsenal winning six, but there was a twist in the tale as Arsenal drew their penultimate game of the season with Bolton. This meant we only needed a draw in the final game instead of a win. We went out to hold them off and came away with a narrow win (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/arsenal-15.jpg) to secure the title in style.

Community Shield (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/commshield-3.jpg) - a first for the club. Like last year, it wasn't a great game but it was nice to be on the winning side in the curtain raiser for the new season.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/facup-14.jpg) - our search for FA Cup glory goes on as we were soundly beaten by man City in a time when we had a few key players missing.

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-15.jpg) - we put out the fringe players again but the way we lost was horrible (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/sunderland-11.jpg), especially since Eriksen used to play for us.

UEFA Champions League

Since we are still relatively inexperienced in Europe, the seedings gave us a tough group which included the holders and two other tough teams.

Dartford 2-1 Villarreal
Fenerbahce 1-2 Dartford
Inter 1-2 Dartford
Dartford 1-0 Inter
Villarreal 3-1 Dartford
Dartford 2-2 FenerbahceGroup Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/groupstage.jpg)

It couldn't have gone better. Four consecutive wins and Inter slipping up meant we had qualified top with four games to spare, it also meant we were able to 'rest a few players' which somehow managed to knock out Inter.

1st Knockout Round Leg 1 (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/1st1-1.jpg) - this was a pretty poor result after our dominant group games.
1st Knockout Round Leg 2 (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/1st2-1.jpg) - our class shone through with an excellent display of finishing from Oswaldo Even.

Quarter Final Leg 1 (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/qf1.jpg) - another tough trip to France, although this one didn;t go as well as the last one.
Quarter Final Leg 2 (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/qf2.jpg) - almost a carbon copy of the last round as we completely outplayed them.

Semi Final Leg 1 (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/sf1.jpg) - this was a great result against title rivals Arsenal. Injuries and shocking finishing meant we were able to sneak a win against in form Arsenal.
Semi Final Leg 2 (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/sf2.jpg) - they absolutely hammered us as we hung on for our lives. You can probably guess who our man of the match was.

Final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/final-9.jpg) - a dominant display for which the scoreline didn't suggest. Bayern were never really in the game aand didn't look like scoring as we claimed our first ever Champions League crown.

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-67.jpg) - Even was the only key player signed, the rest were just expensive squad players. A lot of players were sold to trim the squad and I should have probably got a bit more for them, Marcelo threatened to haunt us but had a shocker in the Champions League final.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-135.jpg) - real quality everywhere although there is still room for improvement. The squad is still young and has a lot left in them but it is still missing a quality main striker.

Player Profiles

Goalie

Franco Di Mauro (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/dimauro.jpg) - possibly a weak link although I just can't find a better young keeper. Maybe I'll have to fork out for a more experienced goalie if I want to replace him.

Defenders

Steve Allen (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/allen-1.jpg) - solid no nonsense defender who has been with us for six years now.
Benoit Martin (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/martin-4.jpg) - one of the hottest prospects in the world and my captain, he's going no where.
Daniel Bryant (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/bryant-1.jpg) - utility backup player, he cost £25m due to his potential but never got to reach it due to the competition in the squad.
Patrik Ahlqvist (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/ahlqvist-1.jpg) - awesome player, although it was shame he knocked Larkin out of the team.
Steve Larkin (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/larkin-2.jpg) - hot prospect who's career is being damaged by Ahlqvist. I won't be letting him go though.
Stuart Hughes (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/hughes-1.jpg) - backup who could do with a few games, could go out on loan but rejects my feeder Watford.
Raffaele Campana (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/campana-1.jpg) - in demand left back who we were lucky to prise away from AC Milan.

Midfielders

Adrian Hendrie (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/hendrie-4.jpg) - a beast of a player who played in both DM and DC positions this season.
Nelio (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/nelio-1.jpg) - started to lose his place but still a good DM.
Ricardo Lopez Martinez (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/martinez.jpg) - signed as a long term DM replacement, shame he got injured though.
Aurelien Laschet (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/laschet.jpg) - disappointing signing who acted as backup on the right wing and AMC positions.
Ryan Caddis (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/caddis-4.jpg) - he was Premier League quality at 16 but has since made slow progress. There's still a lot to come from him I think.
Saifallah Zitouni (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/zitouni-1.jpg) - real quality player and one of the only signings that wasn't under 21, worth a fortune. We lost him to a three month injury which really made a big difference.
Patrik Keil (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/keil-1.jpg) - great signing from Real Madrid, does the lot from the AMC position.
Jose Manuel (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/manuel.jpg) - got more games than I was expecting due to the injury to Zitouni, he's a talented youngster.

Strikers

Oswaldo Even (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/even.jpg) - I wasn't sure if he was a winger or a striker when I spotted him but I couldn;t resist signing him anyway. Played as a striker and scored a decent number of goals for his first season.
Nicolas Monaco (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/monaco-4.jpg) - club legend who has suffered with injuries recently, I don;t think he has been the same player after his injury hit season last year where he made just 15 appearances.
David Miguel (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/miguel.jpg) - backup striker who filled the gaps with an impressive goalscoring record.
Richard Hartley (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/hartley-1.jpg) - I though he was going to be the next big thing but he was far from impressive in his first two seasons.

With the challenge now complete my focus is turning to a spell of domination. I want to see these youngsters develop and dominate the world, hopefully to be joined by some of our own youth players (who have all been useless so far).

The stadium is still a big issue, 15000 seats for the three time Premier League champions and Champions League holders is just pathetic. We have around £90m in the bank so I would expect to see a start on a new stadium within the next couple of years, although there is a rumour of a board takeover so that could influence things.

Dartford FC - Barclays Premier League - 2024/25

With the challenge completed last season, this was our chance to prove that we were worthy winners of the Champions League.

League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-122.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos-54.jpg)

Once again Arsenal proved to be our closest rivals and once again we spent the season hunting them down, only managing to catch up with our games in hand and overtake them late on in the season. Defensively we have been solid but we are going to have to score more goals if we want to make this league easy.

Community Shield (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/commshield-4.jpg) - it should have been an easy game but we had to make the beat of our chances to take a win in this close encounter. Two in a row now after failing at our first attempt.

UEFA Super Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/uefasupercup-1.jpg) - this was more like it, a great attacking game where we really got to show our class.

Club World Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cwc-2.jpg) - the semi final was a bit disappointing as we failed to really get the goals, which seemed to carry into the final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cwcfinal-1.jpg).

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carlingcup.jpg) - the Man City game was great but the semi final was a shock as we barely had to get out of breath in the second leg after the awful performance by West Ham in the first leg. The final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carlingfinal-1.jpg) was much of a formality as we could have scored a lot more to clinch our second Carling Cup.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/facup-15.jpg) - this was a competition we had never had much luck in, and we needed a lot of it to make our way to the final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/facupfinal.jpg). The tradition continued as we needed extra time to seal a deserved win over our close rivals Arsenal.

UEFA Champions League (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cl-3.jpg) - like last year, we raced to four wins in the group stage (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/clgroup-7.jpg) which meant we had already qualified, which explains the 7-1 defeat as Real Madrid beat our youth team. The route was fairly straight forward, bar the fantastic 4-0 win over Barcelona but we really saved our best for the final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/clfinal.jpg). Two in a row now which proves last year was no fluke.

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-68.jpg) - I wasn't planning on making any signings but as we were chasing Arsenal in the league I went out and strengthened the squad in January just to make sure. Unless any really promising youngsters turn up I doubt there will be any new signings next season. I think I'll be selling a few players this season, but only if reasonable bids come in.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-136.jpg) - getting close to perfection now. With Even taking up the striking role I have been looking for in previous seasons it looks like I have the squad I am after. Barring any major injuries I don't think I will be signing anyone and I'm looking forward to taking some of these players all the way through their careers.

Key Player Profiles:

Michael Grieve (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/grieve.jpg) - signed for £15m to give us good backup in the DC and DL positions, he has actually been challenging Campana for the first team DL position.

Ruben Dario Lunghitano (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/ruben.jpg) - signed to give us a more attacking option in the DM role. Signed from Real Madrid thanks to a £15.25m MFRC he looks like a bargain.

Tarek Afaoui (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/arfaoui.jpg) - like Grieves, he was signed to give us backup in two positions, MR and AMC. Another steal thanks to a £6.5m MFRC from Valencia.

John Clifford (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/clifford.jpg) - one of the few promising youngsters still about, he's been snapped up for £7m to provide Caddis backup with a natural winger.

Benoit Martin (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/martin-5.jpg) - doesn't often get mentioned but my captain is a fantastically consistent performer.

Oswaldo Even (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/even-1.jpg) - the real star of the season and a potential world beater. Worth £35m at 20 it scares me just how good he could be when he peaks.

With the clean sweep achieved it leaves nothing but the new stadium. With £105m in the bank and an average league attendance of 14980 (20 short of capacity), surely we must be in an ideal position to start building?

It gets blocked due to there not being enough room to expand. Why they haven't built a new one yet I'm not sure.

Brazil - Confederations Cup - 2025

I took the Brazil job part way through this competition and after a 1-1 draw with Nigeria and a 3-0 win over New Zealand I was facing the task of needing a draw against already qualified France.

The squad I had inherited did not suite my tactics well, so I was struggling in a few positions but we still had some great players including an ex striker of mine in Marcelo.

France vs Brazil (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/france.jpg)

With France already qualified they seemed to take it easy, although we were up for this with it being my first game. We got the win we deserved as we were the better team on the day.

Group Stage (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/group-1.jpg)

The win over France meant we qualified first instead of second, although it only mean the difference in playing Spain instead of England.

Brazil vs Spain (semi final) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/semi-1.jpg)

The odd goal was just enough for us here as we hung on for the win in a close encounter.

France vs Brazil (final) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/final-10.jpg)

It was a surprising repeat of the group game, as we made relatively easy work of France.

Depends what sort of week it is. In a normal working week I'll get around one done, but if it is during the holidays then I might get through a bit more.

Dartford FC - Barclays Premier League - 2025/26

With a clean sweep of trophies last season it was always going to be tough to repeat it. We had the ongoing problem of the lack of a new stadium and on top of that we had rumours of an upcoming board takeover.

League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-137.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos-56.jpg)

In our first twenty games we had conceded just one goal, and it was this solid defence that brought us our first dominant league title.

Community Shield (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/community.jpg) - we were extremely lucky to win this one thanks to some great penalty taking.

UEFA Super Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cupercup.jpg) - this one was fairly straight forward.

Club World Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cwc-3.jpg) - a couple of decent wins, unlike last year. The final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cwcfinal-2.jpg) was a brilliant match for us.

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-17.jpg) - penalties saved us once again against Pompey but it was fairly easy getting to Wembley once again. The final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carlingfinal-2.jpg) was a shocker. We dominated the match and had two perfectly good penalty shouts turned down (the FA agreed with my outburst) before Chelsea snatched victory in the dying minutes. Gutted.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/facup-17.jpg) - yet again, penalties got us though a match which gained some revenge over Chelsea for us. The final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/facupfinal-1.jpg) was a bit strange as our last league game was after theirs, meaning we only had a couple of days rest. The fitness showed as we got outplayed and lost our second cup final of the year.

(http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cl-4.jpg) UEFA Champions League (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cl-4.jpg) - The group stage (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/clgroup-8.jpg) was tougher than previous years with the tough game coming early. We had a chance to top the group but could only draw, although that gave us Basel in the nest round which I thought would be easy. I was wrong as Basel gave us a really tough game which ended in yet another favourable penalty shootout. A routine win over rivals Arsenal was followed by a superb comeback against Barcelona as we turned around a 2-0 first leg loss to win on penalties yet again. The final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/clfinal-1.jpg) was a tight affair where I think we were the better team, even though the stats don't suggest that. A neat finish just inside the second half sealed our third consecutive title.

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-73.jpg) - again, I didn't really want to sign anyone but snapped up two decent youngsters in July. My hand was then forced in January as an injury crisis left me with no centre backs at all.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-148.jpg) - I'm happy with this squad and will not be looking to sign anyone next season.

Key Player Profiles:

Mike Bannister (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/bannister.jpg) - after six years at the club, first choice goalie Franco Di Mauro decided he wanted a new challenge. I signed this rather expensive replacement and tried to sell Di Mauro but I couldn't, he then changed his mind and wanted to stay. This has left me with two top quality goalies.

Scott Spice (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/spice.jpg) - emergency signing to cover my defensive injuries. He did well to cover for my excellent central defensive partnership when they got injured.

Ryan Caddis (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/caddis-5.jpg) - he's been disappointing since his début season at 16, but Caddis is starting to look like the world class player I though I'd found.

Oswaldo Even (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/even-2.jpg) - just superb, and he hasn't yet reached his peak. When he got injured we really didn't look like the same side.

Brazil - FIFA World Cup - 2026

Qualifying (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/qualifying.jpg) was nice and simple for Brazil, although I was only managing them for the last four games (which we won).

This brought us a generous draw in the group stage where we would meet Ireland, Saudi Arabia and New Zealand. As holders and joint favourites for the tournament, this group gave us a great chance to progress without really stretching ourselves.

Ireland vs Brazil (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/ireland.jpg)

A real shock result as we were completely outplayed by an Ireland team that boasted five players who have played under me at Dartford.

Brazil vs Saudi Arabia (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/sa.jpg)

A decent result but not a great performance. Ireland made things interesting by losing 1-0 to New Zealand which meant we just needed to equal their result to top the table.

New Zealand vs Brazil (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/nz.jpg)

We were outplayed in the first half but after they went a man down we scored and it looked all over, until we gave away a silly penalty. We did well to get back in front and turned on the style late on to make it look a lot easier than it was.

Final Group Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/group-2.jpg)

With Ireland shockingly in consistent it made the group interesting, we were very lucky to top it. Winning the group did us a big favour as it meant we faced Croatia in the next round instead of the hosts Spain.

Croatia vs Brazil (2nd round) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/croatia.jpg)

We came out on top in quite a dirty match. Ireland continued their shocks by knocking out the hosts while we face another giant killer in the next round as Greece knocked out Portugal.

Brazil vs Greece (quarter final) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/greece.jpg)

A tight game which was settled late on but the highlight was definitely the first goal, as Ricardo scored direct from a corner. The shocks continue as we drew Scotland in the semi final.

Brazil vs Scotland (semi final) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/scotland.jpg)

So close to a massive upset here, things were looking good for use when we took the lead but Scotland battled hard.

Brazil vs Italy (final) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/italy.jpg)

Our route to the final had been a bit dubious but Italy were top quality opposition. Italy were probably the better side but our penalty taking was superb once again. Quite a spooky repeat of the 1994 final.

Looks like my second board takeover has finally been completed.

The first rumour (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/bid.jpg)

Pretty standard stuff, there always seems to be a rumour of a new manager when there's a takeover.

Things then went quiet for a while and eventually a transfer embargo was put on the club.

The next story (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/takeover-2.jpg)

The same name was brought up for my job.

Personal message (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/message.jpg)

He's going to give me chance to prove myself, which should be fairly easy with the way the club is performing. Pumping £180m into the club is great, it means we finally have the money in the bank for a new stadium, I just hope he keeps me on then builds it.

Another personal message (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/nextmessage.jpg)

I'd have been shocked if he replaced me, although it is a relief to get it all sorted. Still no news on a new stadium though, just the usual message about space and the council. Looks like I'll have to wait until the end of this season.

I think the stories are just rumours designed to make the takeovers sound a bit more interesting, I would be very surprised if a manager got replaced in circumstances similar to these.

Sadly that has not been the case in previous versions. I think it was with FM07 where I took Staines from the BSS to the PL, then after my first PL season I was replaced as manager after a takeover. I've never been so angry with the game.

Dartford FC - Barclays Premier League - 2026/27

With the takeover complete and job secured I was looking forward to doing what we do best, winning things. We had the heartache of two cup final losses last season to deal with so there was a bit of revenge to be had this year.

Complete domination in our best league season yet. We lost a few games late on once the title had been secured as I gave the youngsters a few games together.

Community Shield (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/comm-1.jpg) - an unusually good performance in this competition for us.

UEFA Super Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/super-1.jpg) - we were never going to lose but it took us a while to break them down.

Club World Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cwc-4.jpg) - an interesting competition which brought our biggest ever win (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cwcsemi-1.jpg) in the semi, followed by a routine final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cwcfinal-3.jpg).

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-18.jpg) - a straight forward rout to the final with only Chelsea really challenging us. The final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carlingfinal-3.jpg) was an awful game which were lucky to avoid penalties in.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/facup-18.jpg) - we made hard work of some easy games but eventually made our third final. The final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/facupfinal-2.jpg) was a tight affair which was settled by a moment of genius. Caddis attacked down the right and put in a cross which was met on the volley by my left back, it really was a replica of that Di Canio goal.

UEFA Champions League (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cl-5.jpg) - possibly the easiest route to the final we have ever had as only Ajax gave us an initial scare. We had a perfect group stage (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/clgroup-9.jpg) which featured wins for the reserves in the final two games. The final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/clfinal-2.jpg) was very comfortable, even with the sending off. I even played a couple of 17 year olds for the second half.

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-74.jpg) - the transfer embargo meant I could not sign anyone in the summer but I added a couple of youngsters in the winter.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-149.jpg) - superb stuff as a lot of my squad start to hit their peak ages.

Key Player Profiles:

Philipp Schuler (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/schuler.jpg) - signed as backup but he's two footed and versatile which makes him a useful player to have.

Saifallah Zitouni (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/zitouni-2.jpg) - still going strong, although he's getting towards the age where I'm going to have to start looking for a replacement for the future.

Nicolas Monaco (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/monaco-5.jpg) - his best season for a while, he really shone in the cups.

Ryan Caddis (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/caddis-8.jpg) - his goals and assists were so vital to us this season, he's really turning into a class act.

Oswaldo Even (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/even-4.jpg) - his best season yet as he starts to edge towards a goal a game.

More of the same would be good but I want to start developing our own players. Alex Clements (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/clements-1.jpg) has become our first youth player that looks like he could make the first team, I'm just hoping we get a few more.

As always, the stadium is the main issue. Our average league attendance was 14976, 24 short of capacity. With a new chairman and £321m in the bank, surely they will build a new one?

I've got the Copa America coming up now with Brazil, I think that will be my last season with them as I'll look for a new country to take to the 2030 World Cup.

Brazil - Copa America - 2027

In what could be my last year in Brazil, we went into the tournament in Colombia as the holders with a great chance of retaining the title after being drawn with Paraguay, Costa Rica and Ecuador.

Brazil vs Paraguay (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/paraguay.jpg)

A pretty dominant display as we really made the most of our chances. The fans loved this result.

Costa Rica vs Brazil (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/costarica.jpg)

A convincing display with a reasonable result. Losing star striker Marcelo will be a blow though.

Ecuador vs Brazil (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/ecuador.jpg)

In a match that meant nothing to us Ecuador dominated the first half. The game changed when Renan scored a sublime goal after a mazy run. The sending off sealed it for us as Ecuador just couldn't come back..

Final Group Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/group-3.jpg)

The expected three wins took us through easily.

Brazil vs Colombia (quarter final) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/colombia.jpg)

After a shocking first half I made a triple substitution which seemed to change things. We then suffered a hammer blow as our goalie turned a cross into his own net with just minutes to go. We had been knocked out by the hosts.

This was going to be my last year with Brazil but I wasn't expecting it to end this way (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/sacked.jpg). I'll now be looking for a new country with the aim of participating in the 2030 World Cup.

After my sacking from Brazil, I had these three offers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/offers.jpg)

Mexico had no upcoming fixtures, with a wait until December for the World Cup qualifying group to be announced. Since I was looking for a quick spell before the World Cup, this ruled them out.

Holland was the obvious choice, but they were third in their Euro qualifying group looking at a playoff place at best. I also had no players in their squad so this just about ruled them out.

Switzerland however, had a great challenge in prospect. Already sitting in a playoff spot in their Euro qualifying group (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/qualifying-1.jpg), they had a chance to upset England while making the playoffs if that failed. This was enough for me, I took the job. No pressure then! (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/fa-2.jpg)

Patrick Keil (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/keil-2.jpg)

I've had him at Dartford for five seasons now and although he's coming under pressure for his place he is still a quality player. He used to be described as either footed (not sure why this has changed) and he plays well in the AMC position.

Bjorn Fischer (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/fischer.jpg)

He's our second best player and someone who I tried to sign quite a while back. He's getting on a bit but should still be able to do a job while I'm in charge.

Did Alexander Frei stay in football when his playing career finished. He is the only Swiss player i have ever signed and he was brilliant.

Switzerland - Euro 2028 Qualifying

This (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/qualifying-1.jpg) was the group when I took the job which gave me a chance to upset England and a decent chance of making the playoffs.

Switzerland vs Northern Ireland (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/ni.jpg)

We blew any tiny chance we had of topping the group with this defeat thanks to a late penalty.

England vs Switzerland (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/eng.jpg)

I was expecting a thrashing so it was good that we held our own for a lot of the match.

Switzerland vs Faroe Islands (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/fi.jpg)

We equalled the Swiss record win in a result that secured the playoff place for us.

Lithuania vs Switzerland (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/lit.jpg)

In a game that meant very little our finishing was dreadful.

Final Group Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/group-4.jpg)

As expected, we made the playoffs in a draw that contained countries such as Holland, Italy, Sweden and Turkey. We certainly got the luck of the draw as we were paired with Belarus and Italy and Holland met each other.

Playoff leg 1 (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/bel1.jpg)

It was a very comfortable win but the second goal took a while to come.

Playoff leg 2 (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/bel2.jpg)

They tried hard but we were just too difficult to break down. This result means Switzerland will take part in the competition they missed out on four years ago. Here are (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/qualifiers-1.jpg) the qualifying teams so as one of the underdogs we will just be hoping for a kind draw in the group stage.

Dartford FC - Barclays Premier League - 2027/28

With the new stadium (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/stadium-3.jpg) announced, this was going to be our final season in the 15000 seater Princes Park.

League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-139.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos-58.jpg)

In terms of league performance, this was a bit of a step backwards for us. When the CWC came round we fell three games behind which dropped us to second, we then made very hard work of catching the games back up, drawing far too many. Injuries and tiredness seemed to hit us quite badly this season which is odd as it has not happened before.

Community Shield (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/comm-2.jpg) - with our superb record in penalty shootouts last season this was a bit of a shock.

UEFA Super Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/super-2.jpg) - and it happens again, although unlike the Chelsea game we should have won this one.

Club World Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cwc-5.jpg) - fairly uneventful with a simple final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cwcfinal-4.jpg).

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-19.jpg) - another simple cup run with a terribly dull final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carlingfinal-4.jpg).

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/fa-3.jpg) - the replays really hurt us and gave us a congested fixture list but we had an easy game in the final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/fafinal.jpg).

UEFA Champions League (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cl-6.jpg) - despite a shock loss to Benfica, the group stage (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/clgroup-10.jpg) was easy work and only Chelsea really tested us in the knockout stages. Going into the final I felt nervous, which was unusual, but after taking a 2-0 lead I though we had it in the bag. 3-2 down at half time I was really worried then this happened (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/clfinaL-3.jpg), it was probably the greatest CL final I have been involved in. The injury to Keil is a massive blow as it means I will be going into Euro 2028 as Switzerland manager without my star player.

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-75.jpg) - I probably made a mistake this season in clearing out a load of players who were not going to feature regularly and replacing them with youngsters. We made a decent profit but our squad is definitely weaker now.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-150.jpg) - English and home grown players were my aim but the squad still only features three youth players: Forster, Stevens and Clements.

Key Player Profiles:

Sean Forster (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/forster-3.jpg) - promoted to the youth team at the start of the year he looks like a very promising goalie. He got a decent number of games this season due to a 5 week injury to Bannister and performed pretty well. He conceded quite a few goals but I really think he will replace him soon.
Sergio Perez Gonzalez (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/gonzalez.jpg) - in my selling spree I accidentally managed to clear out all our reserve left backs, so he was signed thanks to a £4.7m MFRC.

Jerome Russell (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/russell.jpg) - I'm trying to find a good young striker to partner Even and this wonderkid could be it.

Adrian Hendrie (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/hendrie-5.jpg) - this would be his testimonial year and he's performing as consistently as ever.

Ryan Caddis (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/caddis-9.jpg) - not quite up to the standard of last season but still pretty amazing.

Oswaldo Even (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/even-6.jpg) - we rely on him far too much and when he suffered from exhaustion we had no option but to send him away for two weeks. We were literally not the same team without him.

The stadium move is due to happen next month so that should start a new era for the Darts. I think the squad is going to need a bit of rebuilding as some of my players start reaching their thirties and I'm hoping we get some decent youth players who are capable of the step up to the first team.

Switzerland - European Championship - 2028

We were fairly lucky getting to this tournament thanks to a generous playoff draw against Belarus (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/bel2.jpg), but we faced an uphill struggle as we were drawn in a group with Ireland, Portugal and Spain.

Things got off to a bad start weeks before the tournament started as star player Patrick Keil (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/keil-3.jpg) got injured playing for me in the CL final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/clfinaL-3.jpg), almost definitely ruling him out of the group stage.

Switzerland vs Spain (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/spain.jpg)

While we were not completely dominated, the class difference was obvious as poor defending accounted for all three goals.

Switzerland vs Ireland (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/ireland-1.jpg)

A fantastic win thanks to a brace from Fabian Kraus. Results elsewhere mean that Spain have already qualified, Ireland can't and we will play Portugal in a match to decide the other qualifying spot.

Portugal vs Switzerland (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/portugal.jpg)

Because of the goal difference, we had to beat them, a draw was no good. We started brightly but the Lopes goal killed us off completely, we just couldn't come back.

Final Group Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/group-5.jpg)

I'm actually fairly pleased with this performance, I was expecting three big defeats.

This was second attempt at something like this (first is here (http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php?t=139330)), so I had a bit more experience which I think helped to get me there a bit faster, although there were a couple of big similarities. In both games I made easy work of League 1 and 2 (apart from two playoff losses) then got stuck in the Championship for 4/5 years. Something else you've pointed out which I've never noticed is that I won the PL in the third season in both games, weird.

haha, yeah, thats odd. I attempted your challenge on 3 occasions this year, and in my most recent, got to League 2 after about 8 or 9 seasons IIRC. The first two attempts, I don't even recall getting out of the Conference N/S

A great career you've got going here. Do you plan on carrying it on for a while, or are you looking to change clubs / games.

I'm looking to get a few more seasons done with this game although I'll probably run out of time when FM10 is released. I got to 2060 with FM06 and I'd love to do something similar here if possible.

I'm yet to see any players through their whole career yet so I'd like to be able to do that, just a shame my youth system isn't really producing many decent players I could do it with. That's the big difference with this game compared to the last. With FCUM I had half my team come through my youth system, with Dartford I still haven't had a single player become a regular.

Dartford FC - Barclays Premier League - 2028/29

The season got off to a disastrous start as our new stadium was delayed (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/gutted.jpg).

League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-140.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos-59.jpg)

We had a good start but then suffered a really bad run of draws that dropped us down to 4th and six points behind Man City. Luckily we regained our form and for the second half of the season we were playing some of the best football we have ever done. Man City started dropping points and we eventually claimed the title quite easily.

Community Shield (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/comm-3.jpg) - we were playing well and taking our chances, the scoreline was little flattering though.

UEFA Super Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/super-3.jpg) - same two teams and very nearly the same result.

Club World Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cwc-6.jpg) - the goals took a while to come as we dominated them.

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-20.jpg) - this was a massive shock to get knocked out in the quarter finals since we had made the last four finals winning three of them. We were a bit unlucky and made a good attempt at coming back but we just couldn't.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/fac-2.jpg) - Man City must hate us.

UEFA Champions League (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cl-7.jpg) - a fantastic display as we dominated them.

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-76.jpg) - the squad was trimmed and a few players were loaned out. A 15 year old left back (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/rocher.jpg) was the only signing.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-151.jpg) - the squad is seriously strong right now and I'm struggling to find any players that can improve it.

Key Player Profiles:

Oswaldo Even (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/even-7.jpg) - our hero. Not quite reaching a goal a game but making the 50 mark is an achievement for him in his best season ever.

Jerome Russell (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/russell-1.jpg) - to score that many goals alongside Even is some achievement. Leeds must be gutted they let him go for just £5m.

Ryan Caddis (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/caddis-10.jpg) - another highly productive season from our second star.

Steve Larkin (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/larkin-3.jpg) - he eventually won the right back battle with Patrik Ahlqvist and had a stunning season.

Sean Forster (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/forster-4.jpg) - our youth goalie who I am hoping will one day replace Bannister. He also spent 3 months on loan at Burnley making 10 appearances.

I was worried we were going backwards half way through this season but if we carry on as we did in the second half we could have our best ever season next year.

The youth player progress is going slowly, Forster is looking good and Stevens is out on loan at Liverpool but Clements is pretty awful. Looks like I'm still going to have to wait to get a youth player capable of making the first team.

The new stadium is being filled regularly and although the board don't agree, I think an expansion would be good idea.

England - Confederations Cup - 2029

I must admit, I didn't even realise we were going to be in this competition when I took the job so it was a nice surprise to have a competition this summer.

Honduras vs England (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/honduras.jpg)

A dominant display yet a modest scoreline. Honduras were really lucky to avoid a hammering here, which could have been useful for us.

England vs Brazil (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/brazil.jpg)

This was a big one as we went up against the nation that sacked me a year ago. It was a highly eventful first half and a great result for us.

Japan vs England (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/japan.jpg)

We had already qualified so a lot of players were rested, they still managed a decent result though. In hindsight, I had a chance to knock Brazil out of the tournament by 'losing' this match but I think we did the right thing.

Final Group Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/group-6.jpg)

Quite pleased to top the group, we'll play USA in the semi final.

England vs USA (semi final) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/usa.jpg)

Another solid display a another good result. This sets up what should be another great game against Brazil.

England vs Brazil (final) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/brazilfinal.jpg)

It wasn't as good as our previous meeting but it was still an interesting match. We scored early thanks to a thunderbolt from Gavin Johnston (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/johnston-1.jpg), a player I had previously sold which was a big mistake. Brazil pushed hard late on and even their goalie managed a shot on target from a late corner but they just couldn't break us down.

The England job was not one I was ever really that interested in but I intend to stay to try and take them to the World Cup next year before moving on. Qualification (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/qual.jpg) is still in our hands although a shock defeat to Turkey at Wembley means we are going to have to work hard for it.

Awesome stuff Dafuge. I'm so jealous of your career!

All you need is a son to top things off now, surely? ;)

That and winning the World Cup with England would do the trick!

I think you could probably say you had 'completed' FM09 if you manage those two objectives. :D

The son is the one thing I want to happen more than anything else. Unfortunately it is the one thing I have no control over, it seems to be just down to luck. Every year I get excited when the new youth players arrive and every year I am disappointed when they are rubbish and have no sign of my son.

Dartford FC - Barclays Premier League - 2029/30

With a new stadium and years of dominance I was expecting another dominant season.

League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-141.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos-60.jpg)

It looked like it would be the same old story with Man City taking advantage of the games in hand but we had a six game win-less streak which made things interesting. We lost our penultimate game which would have secured the title for us so the last day meant we needed just a draw away at Chelsea. We won 2-1 while Man City lost to West Ham.

Community Shield (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/comm-4.jpg) - pretty lucky to come away with the shield.

UEFA Super Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/super-4.jpg) - utterly dominant, poor finishing kept the scoreline respectable.

Club World Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cwc-7.jpg) - another dominant display.

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-21.jpg) - with an early exit last year I wanted to make an impression this time, so when drawn against our biggest rivals I put out our strongest team. Things didn't work out as we lost a close game.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/fa-4.jpg) - this was a huge shock as Championship Stoke knocked us out of the FA Cup. The first match was hugely one sided as we had 11 shots to their 1, the replay wasn't as one sided but we were still the better team. This ended our run of making five consecutive finals with four wins.

(http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cl-8.jpg) UEFA Champions League (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cl-8.jpg) - Dartford vs Real Madrid for the third time in a row and the same result yet again. Things were far too easy for us yet again.

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-77.jpg) - a few unneeded players were sold for a massive profit. Clifford was a great wonderkid but with Caddis in the team and another younger wonderkid in his position that bid was just too good to turn down.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-152.jpg) - my efforts to introduce youth players are failing miserably, they are just not good enough. As a number of players reach their thirties I am starting to worry that they will not be replaced unless I get aggressive in the transfer market again.

Key Player Profiles:

Oswaldo Even (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/even-8.jpg) - injuries ruled him out for a few weeks so he wasn't as prolific as usual.

Jerome Russell (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/russell-2.jpg) - like Even, he missed a few games but maintained his great goalscoring record.

Ryan Caddis (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/caddis-11.jpg) - probably his greatest season yet, he is pure genius.

Nicolas Monaco (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/monaco-6.jpg) - with the injuries to our best strikers Nicolas had the chance to shine once again.

Saifallah Zitouni (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/zitouni-3.jpg) - sadly I think this is the end of a legend. Zitouni has pretty much run this club for a number of years and we have suffered from a dip in his form. Along with Patrik Keil, I think he is an older player that may need replacing.

Despite seven consecutive PL/CL doubles, this was a disappointing season. The squad is starting to age and I just don't have the players to replace them. Drastic changes are needed and I need to decide whether to spend big or give the young players a chance to replace their mentors.

England - World Cup - 2030

I took this job with the intention of qualifying for the World Cup in the USA (turnips ahoy!) and hopefully winning it. Qualification (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/qualification.jpg) went fairly smoothly, although a defeat to Turkey (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/turkeyqual.jpg) at Wembley put a little bit of doubt in our minds.

The group draw put us with Chile, Japan and ... Turkey. It looks like an easy group but all three teams are capable of an upset.

Turkey vs England (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/turkey.jpg)

We had revenge on our minds but Turkey had the better start. In the end it took a very late goal to give us the result we deserved.

England vs Japan (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/japan-1.jpg)

It looked like a shock was on the cards as we left it late to grab the win. This win secured qualification from the group.

Chile vs England (group stage)

We were already through but I wanted to keep the momentum going, I sent the best team out possible and two Dartford boys got the goals.

Things went to plan and we meet Cameroon in the next round.

England vs Cameroon (2nd round) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cameroon.jpg)

We made really hard work of a game that should have been easy, we got the result in the end though. We draw Australia in the quarter final.

Australia vs England (quarter final) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/aus.jpg)

It took a while but once the breakthrough came we were well in control. We meet hosts USA in the next round.

USA vs England (semi final) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/usa-1.jpg)

We were missing five players but no one expected this. Following the match I resigned.

Following my resignation from England and after they had won the third placed playoff I got offered the chance to return, I rejected it (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/rejected.jpg). I applied for the Spanish, Argentinian and German jobs and jumped at the chance when Spain (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/spain-1.jpg) offered me the job.

My first task will be to qualify for Euro 2032, our qualification group (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/euroq.jpg) looks fairly straight forward so I hope to improve on my last performance in the European Championships.

This makes things so much worse:

I wanted a job with France, Spain, Argentina or any other attractive sounding nation in with a chance of doing well in the World Cup.

I quit the Swiss job then went looking for my new nation, the only two options were England and Scotland :(

I applied for both and only one came back, England. Not my ideal job but the fact they haven't yet won a World Cup makes it an interesting prospect. I also don't need to worry too much about favouring my youth, the few I have are in the squads already and look like the natural successors to the older players in the team.

The qualifying group looks fairly decent so hopefully I can take them to a World Cup before moving on in two years time.

I then said this:

England are ranked 4th, Scotland are 1st, they also have Ryan Caddis.

Should be interesting, hopefully it will come down to a meeting at the World Cup.

Here was the final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/wcf.jpg). Gutted :(

Wow. Football in the year 2030 is just wrong! :D

I'd probably have to give up FM for a week if that had just happened to me.

I remember managing England on FM07. I took them to a World Cup Semi-final and I was absolutely devastated to lose. Next up was the European Championships Qualifying campaign. Walked it without losing a single game. Went to the Championship and got beaten three times in the group stages! Of course, I immediately resigned through the shame of it. I couldn't play FM for at least a week afterwards! Knowing that I had blown my chance of winning something with England in my career was just awful.

Has that perhaps just made you even more depressed! Sorry. :p

Time to go and win something with Spain to make up for it!

C.

Dartford FC - Barclays Premier League - 2030/31

Last season was a turning point for my team as some of the stars started to age and I needed to decide whether to replace them with big money stars or to go for youth from my own academy. I decided to go for youth in an attempt to bring a local feel to the side.

League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-142.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos-61.jpg)

Same story as last season, Man City came out strong and led for a lot of the season but we eventually caught them up and left them for dead. The goal difference says it all, we were the best team in the league by a mile but we just couldn't seem to turn the draws into wins.

Community Shield (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/comm-5.jpg) - one advantage with getting knocked out last year is that we had an easy game here.

UEFA Super Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/super-5.jpg) - an easy victory.

Club World Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cwc-8.jpg) - another easy victory.

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-22.jpg) - it has been three years since we have made a final in this competition so it was great to have such a convincing win.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/fa-5.jpg) - it was a tough draw but it was a horrible loss in a game we really should have won.

UEFA Champions League (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cl-9.jpg) - seven in a row have made this our competition but there was a twist in the tale this year. Semi leg 1 (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cls1.jpg) - a shock lucky defeat, I was still confident of going through though. Semi leg 2 (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cls2.jpg) - another shock lucky defeat, completely gutted.

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-78.jpg) - minimal transfers as youth was given the chance over big money signings. Possibly a mistake.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-153.jpg) - My transfer policy of previous years is just isn't working, by trying to replace ageing stars with talented youngsters over time I think we are actually failing.

Key Player Profiles:

Oswaldo Even (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/even-9.jpg) - possibly his best season yet.

Jerome Russell (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/russell-3.jpg) - a step down from last season, which is a shame.

Ryan Caddis (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/caddis-13.jpg) - another big player who's contribution has dropped.

Georgi Chernev (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/chernev-1.jpg) - I was intent on bringing though a youth goalie but I signed this wonderkid who has real talent.

Ruben Dario Lunghitano (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/lunghitano.jpg) - he's getting on a bit and he may want a new challenge in the future so he could be on his way out. This (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/spurs-7.jpg) was a great way to end what could be his last game for the club.

Spain - Euro 2032 Qualifying

After the huge disappointment with England it was time for a new challenge and it came in the form of Spain. I was expecting a world class team with a real chance of competing for major honours.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-154.jpg)

It was a long way off what I was expecting, defensively they were quite strong but they lacked any real fire power up front. On the positive side though, the squad features five of my former Dartford players, so I know we have a bit of strength even if it is not world class.

Qualifying Group (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/qual-2.jpg)

We had a shocker of a game at home to Norway (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/norway.jpg) which put our qualification in doubt but they managed to blow their lead by losing to Poland. As I expected, our strong defence saw us through but we are really going to need to score more goals if we are going to do anything at the tournament.

Dartford FC - Barclays Premier League - 2031/32

It might sound a bit silly, but not winning the Champions League last year was a disaster. After seven consecutive CL titles, going out in the semi finals was just not acceptable.

League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-143.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos-62.jpg)

The league was pretty much the same old story. We took the lead, Man City overtook us when we lost form then we overtook them to win the title. This must be the 4th consecutive year that this has happened.

Community Shield (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/comm-6.jpg) - Arsenal are not the force they were, but this was still a good win.

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-23.jpg) - we were taking this seriously and got to the final without conceding a goal. Things just didn't go our way though.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/fa-6.jpg) - bit of a shock as we got outplayed in the semi by struggling Newcastle.

UEFA Champions League (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cl-11.jpg) - back to where we belong, with yet another convincing win over Real Madrid in the final. We got our revenge over Valencia as faced them in the group stage (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/clgroup-11.jpg). If you think that draw against Ajax looks dodgy, it was, I quite enjoyed doing that.

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-79.jpg) - my plan to bring through the youth players clearly wasn't working so I went a bit crazy and splashed out some big money on some new players.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-155.jpg) - the age balance is not one I'm used to, with a number of players beyond their peak. I'm going to have to dump them and replace them at some point.

Key Player Profiles:

(http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/esposito-5.jpg) William Esposito (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/esposito-5.jpg) - he was co-owned so came at a price but I couldn't resist signing this youngster. He plays in a weak position of ours so I'm hoping to make him a first team regular soon.

Marco Emonts (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/emonts-1.jpg) - I've been trying to sign him for a while and eventually I gave in spending a whopping £75m on him. The price was extortionate but I badly needed a player in his position, AMC.

James Jacobs (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/jacobs-1.jpg) - signed to replace the ageing Zitouni, he struggled at first but soon settled in well. Cost £25m.

Nuno Real (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/real-1.jpg) - I saw him as a proper left back, which we didn't have. Can't say he's set the world alight. Cost £20m.

Harrison Uzoma (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/uzoma-1.jpg) - my scout raved about him and he seemed to have good attributes in the right places. £35.5m was a bit much for a backup striker but he has been pretty decent.

Ryan Caddis (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/caddis-14.jpg) - possibly his worst season for a while, but he's still quality.

Oswaldo Even (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/even-10.jpg) - he breaks the goal a game barrier for the first time in a superb season.

Georgi Chernev (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/chernev-2.jpg) - I'd not seen a wonderkid goalie before, so I am amazed at how good he is. His value is astonishing.

Honestly, I'm not sure what to aim for. Retaining the CL would be great, but I really want to set myself a new challenge, like building the youth team. The problem with that is that it almost failed us, it is a difficult situation.

Spain - European Championships - 2032

Qualification (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/qual-3.jpg) was fairly simple, but the home defeat to Norway came as a bit of a blow. Luckily they lost away in Poland which sent us through.

Spain vs Austria (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/aus-1.jpg)

This should have been the easy game but we were pretty awful in a dire game.

Holland vs Spain (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/holland.jpg)

It looked like yet another dull game but it had a twist. Thankfully the results elsewhere mean a win against Sweden will see us through.

Spain vs Sweden (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/sweden.jpg)

Shocking. We blew our chance with the penalty but we still should have won this one.

Final Group Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/group-8.jpg)

I thought it would be an easy group but it was far from it. Following the last match I was quite rightly sacked, I would have resigned anyway.

After my time with Spain ended in disaster, I have found myself out of an international job for some time. My ideal job in France became available so I applied but I was surprisingly unsuccessful as they opted for the Romanian Lyon manager instead. I then got offered the Holland job, which I turned down as it was not quite what I was looking for.

Then this turned up (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/jam.jpg)

Qualification (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/qual-5.jpg) for the World Cup looks an almost impossible task so my main aim is a reasonable performance in the 2033 Gold Cup.

The squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-156.jpg) looks utterly terrible, but at least we have enough real players.

It's certainly going to be different for me. I have 3 or 4 players who are PL/CCC standard but the rest of them are mostly L2/BS standard. Should be quite nice playing as the underdog once again.

Jamaica - World Cup 2034 Qualifying

This was the situation I faced in qualifying, it really did look like mission impossible.

Trinidad & Tobago vs Jamaica (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/tt.jpg)

In my first game in charge we had a great result in a match we deserved to win. Considering this lot beat us at home this was a great turnaround.

Jamaica vs Panama (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/panama.jpg)

They beat us 4-0 away so this was a fantastic result in a freakishly even game.

Costa Rica vs Jamaica (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/crica.jpg)

We went into this game needing a win to secure qualification to the next phase. Things looked good early on as we took a shock lead but as we desperately tried to hang on, they took control and lead the game. We came back strong but a late goal put our qualification in the balance. Things really went our way as this result (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/pantt.jpg) came in from Panama City, it meant that a draw was enough.

Second Phase Group Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/phase2.jpg)

The turnaround was something special as we went from three defeats to two wins and a draw. There's no doubt that we were very lucky, but I honestly though that we were the best team in this group.

Phase 3 qualification looks like this (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/phase3.jpg). I'm expecting to beat El Salvador and Honduras and to lose to USA and Mexico, so this is really looking like a two way battle for the last automatic spot, with a playoff game against the South Americans for the loser.

Dartford FC - Barclays Premier League - 2032/33

Last season saw us regain our European crown after our failure the previous year.

League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-144.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos-63.jpg)

We had a shocking start and it looked like we were competing for a CL place rather than the title. Things eventually settled down and we hit form and managed to take the title quite comfortably.

Community Shield (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/comm-7.jpg) - Newcastle were lucky to make it look close, we were by far the better team.

UEFA Super Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/super-6.jpg) - a great display against good opposition.

Club World Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cwc-9.jpg) - a convincing win against not so good opposition.

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-24.jpg) - I put out a team of youth players in this competition and it was a bit of a shame they went out this early in a close match.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/fa-7.jpg) - the youth were also given this competition and after knocking out PL Spurs and Newcastle they struggled against Championship opposition.

UEFA Champions League (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cl-12.jpg) - remember Man Utd last season? This was our story, dominant all the way through but just didn't turn up to the final. Pretty gutted about this.

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-80.jpg) - since Benoit Martin wants to leave, two young defenders were signed to cover him, although I couldn't sell him so neither has really played.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-157.jpg) - there's seven of our own youth players in there, but none of them are forcing their way into the team.

Key Player Profiles:

Rayan Mondoloni (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/mondoloni.jpg) - classy looking signing but his natural fitness means he'll never be able to play a whole season, especially on the wing. He broke his ankle and missed three months which pretty much ruined his début season.

Marco Emonts (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/emonts-2.jpg) - this exactly why I smashed my transfer record and spent £75m on him, he made a huge contribution in a position that rarely does for me.

Ryan Caddis (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/caddis-16.jpg) - he wants to leave and had his worst season for some time. I signed him as a 16 year old so I don't really want to lose him but should a decent bid come in, I will sell.

Oswaldo Even (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/even-11.jpg) - my star player made the goal a game mark again but injuries plagued his season again.

Georgi Chernev (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/chernev-3.jpg) - he still needs to improve but he is probably the best regen goalkeeper I have come across.

The national FAs seem to like dishing the sackings out after World Cups. In my Estudiantes Santander game, the Mexican manager just got sacked after his team were eliminated on penalites despite the fact he took them to the final of the last World Cup and led the World Cup Qualifiers with 5 wins out of 5 and no goals conceded!

You say your board are unambitious but they want you to at least reach the final and/or win three different competitions! Good thing you held onto that Premier League title!

The only reason I call that unambitious is because it wasn't long ago we were recording clean sweeps of all the trophies. The club has gone backwards in the last few years and the board don't really seem to mind.

A pretty poor season for you dafuge in only claiming 2 trophies. I guess your team are ageing fast and it looks like you need some replacements in fast. After spending £150+ million the year before will you be spending anything like that this year or do you have that kind of money to spend again.

As for the Jamaica job, well, it was always going to be difficult considering the giants of South America. I'm sure another national job will come up soon who you'll be able to take to glory. :D

I've got plenty of youngsters who are capable of replacing the ageing stars but they aren't really good enough to get in the team so a lot are getting wasted or make it big at other clubs. I'm also trying to use my own youth academy players as much as possible, which helps to explain the dip over the last few years. I have the finances to spend big again if I want to but there just aren't the players available to improve my team.

I just wish I made it as far with Jamaica to face the South Americans :( Hopefully something will turn up soon.

Finally, after seven months without an international job I have found my ticket to the 2034 World Cup. I initially jumped when I saw the Scotland job had become available, but then I realised the reason why. The World Cup holders had failed to qualify, finishing 4th in their qualifying group.

Then, with just four months to go until the tournament started, two World Cup nations became available, Nigeria and Ghana.

It took a while for me to decide, but based on the current squad I went for Ghana (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/ghana.jpg).

They expect (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/expectation.jpg) me to get to the second round, which could be a little ambitious with this group (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/wcgroup.jpg).

Dartford FC - Barclays Premier League - 2033/34

Last season we suffered the heartache of a Champions League final loss so once again, the aim was to regain our European crown.

League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-155.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos-65.jpg)

It was a really weird season, after 31 games were were undefeated but in 2nd place (we were two games ahead in the middle of the season). Just as we lost our first game of the season, Arsenal imploded, allowing us to win the title with two games left.

Community Shield (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/comm-8.jpg) - cracking match, six in a row for us now.

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-25.jpg) - the scoreline was a bit generous but we played well.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/fac-4.jpg) - was a bit of a shock to go out in the 3rd round.

UEFA Champions League (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cl-13.jpg) - the group stage was easy enough but things got interesting towards the end. The final (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/clfinal-4.jpg) was a simple affair, dominated by Even.

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-82.jpg) - a few youngsters were brought in, along with a solid midfielder.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-167.jpg) - there is a real mix of ages at the moment, I will be looking to bring the average age down soon.

Key Player Profiles:

Allan Arnold (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/arnold-2.jpg) - brought in to toughen up my midfield, he did a good job.

Oswaldo Even (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/even-12.jpg) - he's equalled his best ever goals total and done it scoring just over a goal a game. We really are not the same team without him.

Marco Emonts (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/emonts-3.jpg) - the record signing had another good season but he's getting on a bit.

Goodbyes:

For the first time in this career, I have a couple of long term players retiring.

Patrick Keil (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/keil-4.jpg) - History (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/keilhistory.jpg) - he was well past it this year and was only brought on in the CL final to go out on a high.

Ghana - World Cup - 2034

Qualification (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/qualification-1.jpg) for the 2034 World Cup in Germany was managed by the previous manager of Ghana and they made it with ease.

Japan vs Ghana (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/japan-2.jpg)

The stats didn't really tell the whole story here as we looked the more dangerous of the two teams. The late equaliser was a killer and will make qualification from this group very difficult now.

Ghana vs Portugal (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/portugal-1.jpg)

This was a superb result as we twice came back from a goal behind. Assuming Portugal beat Japan, this means we need a draw against France to qualify for the next round. A win and we are definitely through.

France vs Ghana (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/france-1.jpg)

We took an unexpected lead and tried to sit back and waste time. France bombarded us but just couldn't find a second goal.

Final Group Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/groupd.jpg)

Japan managed a 2-2 draw with Portugal which left an interesting scenario. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure how we qualified.

Ukraine vs Ghana (second round) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/ukraine.jpg)

It was a fairly even game until we took the lead, we then shut up shop and protected it for the last 20 minutes.

Cameroon vs Ghana (quarter final) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cameroon-1.jpg)

For the first time this tournament we dominated a match but despite playing against ten men just couldn't find a winner. The penalties went to sudden death and thanks to one miss, we went through.

Ghana vs Belgium (semi final) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/belgium.jpg)

Once again our opponents found themselves down to ten men and once again we dominated the match. This time we were in complete control and made sure of the result with a late penalty. Truly amazing stuff as Ghana reach the World Cup final.

Czech Republic vs Ghana (final) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/czech.jpg)

Wow. We took the lead with a stunning strike from around 20 yards and continued to push for the rest of the half. The Czech Republic came out in the second half and absolutely battered us, it really was 45 minutes of frantic defending followed by huge punts up the field. Somehow, we managed to hold on for the most unlikely of World Cup victories.

This really was the most unbelievable win in my career with a team that was supposed to just be a three game run out in the group stage. There's no way I can possibly follow up this feat with Ghana so I have resigned on a high. There's a number of high profile jobs available with at least four that I am interested in so it will be interesting to see where I go next.

No, I want another shot at the European Championships to make up for my other two pathetic attempts.

I've taken the Italy job after France turned me down.

That's outstanding stuff Dafuge! :)

Love it how you managed to get through the group stage without winning a game! :D

You did get a favourable draw but still, definitely well played. You actually played your hardest games in the group stage! ;)

Could you post up the 'tree' for the knockout stages (you know, where you go 'view--->tree'). If you can't get it all in, then just from the quarters would be good.

Thanks,
C.

Knockout rounds tree (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/tree-1.jpg)

To say I got lucky with the draws is an understatement. Holders Scotland didn't make the tournament, then Italy, Argentina, France and Brazil all failed to get out of the group stage. I then managed to get what was probably the pick of the teams in every round up to the final, the group games were definitely our hardest.

Holders Scotland! :D

Well done on avoiding Italy, France, Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Portugal, England and Spain! :p

Seriously though, great achievement with Ghana regardless. Just need the European Championships with Italy for the full sweep now.

Thanks for posting the screenshot.

Dartford FC - Barclays Premier League - 2034/35

With performances on the slide and the total dominance a distant memory, it was time to add a different angle to my Dartford team. I've finally made the decision to rely on my youth products, even if our success suffers because of it. I'm going to try not to buy any more players, instead I will be using the players promoted through my own academy. I'm going to keep the players I've bought at the club until the end of their careers, so the current superstars will stay for now to help us into this new era.

League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-156.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos-66.jpg)

Last season we were pushed really hard by Arsenal and I was expecting this to be the first season where we lost our title in ages. Surprisingly, it was the opposite. Arsenal were not the force they were last season and we seemed to improve.
Community Shield (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/comm-9.jpg) - a fairly even match that could have gone either way which we won by the odd goal.

UEFA Super Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/super-7.jpg) - almost a replica of the Community Shield only Man City got the odd goal this time.

Club World Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cwc-10.jpg) - easy stuff as usual.

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-26.jpg) - the youngsters were put out for the whole tournament so there was no shame in this loss.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/fa-8.jpg) - revenge was sweet.

(http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cl-14.jpg) UEFA Champions League (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cl-14.jpg) - I played my youth players throughout the group, which nearly cost us a place in the nest round. Things were going well until we reached semis. Semi leg 1 (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cls1-1.jpg) - it was a fairly even game so this scoreline was a bit harsh. Semi leg 2 (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cls2-1.jpg) - we battered them but it was all over once they scored, we won the match but were never going to win on aggregate. Since 2030 we have only won the CL every other year, will this run continue next season?

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-83.jpg) - with the new policy no players were brought in and a few signings were sold to give youth players a chance.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-168.jpg) - this is everyone who really featured this season, including my reserves.

Squad (youth products) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squadlocal.jpg) - these are the players who have come from my own youth system. There's no real superstars there but they are more than capable of making it in the big time.

Key Player Profiles:

Oswaldo Even (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/even-13.jpg) - the legend is on his way out as he had what is considered a poor season by his high standards. He's got a chance over the next few seasons of reaching the 500 mark but I will need to start looking for a replacement at some point.

Rayan Mondoloni (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/mondoloni-1.jpg) - he was signed a backup player but he has been superb this season and looks like our best player at the moment.

Marco Emonts (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/emonts-4.jpg) - yet another superb season from the record signing.

Bryan Bent (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/bent.jpg) - the first of my youth players to benefit from the new policy, the coaches don't rate him that highly but his decent physical attributes and versatility mean I'll be using him regularly.

Ken Johnson (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/johnson.jpg) - he had the potential to be the next big thing as he is raved about by the coaches and plays in a weak position for us. Sadly, he has had a tough time with injuries (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/johnsoninjuries.jpg) so his chances have been limited.

I doubt it, not this year anyway. I found that when I was doing my YPP reports with FC United it was taking me ages to get the reports written due to the number of players involved. At the moment I'm pretty limited for time so I want to try and spend my time getting through the seasons instead, that is why my season reviews have become a bit briefer than they used to be.

Dartford FC - Barclays Premier League - 2035/36

Once again, the team faced the challenge of the youth only policy as no new players were signed for a second season.

League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-157.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos-67.jpg)

Another decent league performance as the title was confirmed with games to go.

Community Shield (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/comm-10.jpg) - in a fairly even game we came out on top in a penalty shootout.

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-27.jpg) - a strong team was put out in the semi but we just couldn't beat Arsenal in the second leg.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/fa-9.jpg) - bit of a shock as West Ham played out of their skins.

UEFA Champions League (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cl-16.jpg) - we were lucky to get to penalties in this match but we were great from the spot. After 90 minutes I went all sentimental and replaced the departing Ryan Caddis with his young replacement and also brought on the two retiring players. I then went a step further and put all three of them in the penalty shootout, giving useless penalty taker Adrian Hendrie the chance to win it with the fifth. He missed it, which created a greater story as ex youth product Tamer Stevens missed to hand us the title.

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-84.jpg) - no players in as promised and a couple of high profile exits. Youth product Tamer Stevens (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/stevens-1.jpg) was unhappy and when a £30m bid came in I could hardly reject it. French wonderkid Johan Mercier (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/mercier.jpg) also joined Real Madrid in an attempt to give youth and English players a chance.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-169.jpg) - the number of foreigners is always decreasing, it won't be long until we are all English with a couple of exceptions.

Squad (youth products) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squadyouth.jpg) - the two wingers make a significant contribution but I am still yet to see a wonderkid from my own youth system.

Key Player Profiles:

Oswaldo Even (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/even-14.jpg) - the legend is really on his way out, he missed 3 months through injury which really hurt us this season.

Jerome Russell (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/russell-4.jpg) - he's not quite up to Even's standard but he did a pretty good job as a star striker this season.

Rayan Mondoloni (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/mondoloni-2.jpg) - he's been superb, a fantastic signing.

Ken Johnson (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/johnson-1.jpg) - with Emonts and Mondoloni in the team he has been a bit limited but he's made an impact in the games he's had. One of my better youth players.

Gary Gilder (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/gilder.jpg) - even at the tender age of 16 this youth product has made an impact. He will take centre stage next season.

Goodbyes:

Ryan Caddis (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/caddis-17.jpg) - History (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/caddishist.jpg) - signed as a 16 year old (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/rcaddis.jpg), this 'legendary winger' has become a true legend at the club by making over 600 appearances and scoring over 100 goals. He's been after a new challenge for the last five years but saw out his five year contract with great professionalism. There was nothing I could do to keep him and AC Milan managed to sign him on a Bosman. Thankfully we have Gary Gilder (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/gilder.jpg) to replace him.
Adrian Hendrie (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/hendrie-6.jpg) - History (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/hendriehist.jpg) - our old captain and my captain during my stint with England. He's never really been an automatic first choice but still managed to make close to 500 appearances. There's a possibility of signing him as a coach.

Nicolas Monaco (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/monaco-8.jpg) - History (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/monacohist.jpg) - he's actually listed along with myslef as a legend in our club details. Signed as a wonderkid he had a shocking first season but then established himself as the club's top striker. This didn't last long but he found himself at home in the supporting role. He hasn't really featured for some time now but I wanted him to retire at the club. Scored exactly 200 goals for us.

Italy - European Championships - 2036

Qualification (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/qualification-2.jpg) was fairly easy, although a few draws meant it went down to the wire.

Poland vs Italy (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/poland.jpg)

We were dominant but found ourselves struggling. Thankfully our class showed just enough to see us win.

Italy vs France (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/france-2.jpg)

It was a close game and a total fluke decided it.

Italy vs Romania (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/romania.jpg)

We needed just a draw and we took our chances well to secure a convincing looking win.

Final Group Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/group-10.jpg)

Just that unlucky loss to France made it look in doubt.

Italy vs Germany (quarter final) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/germany.jpg)

It was a tight game but we just about deserved the win.

Portugal vs Italy (semi final) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/portugal-2.jpg)

We were outclassed by the hosts in this match.

Quite embarrassingly, this game was started at the end of April, with 9.3.0.

My new international job has now been confirmed.

I applied to Belgium, I didn't get it.

I then got offered European champions Portugal, I turned it down.

I then took on the mighty Romania (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/rom.jpg)

This (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/qualifying-2.jpg) is the qualifying group I face, which should be interesting since it features the nation that rejected me and the nation I resigned from, who tried to persuade me to reconsider. A second place and a playoff spot is my aim but in reality third place might be an achievement, the Romanian FA want me to get the playoff place.

No idea why Belgium turned me down, but France have also turned me down twice in my career now. I wasn't interested in Portugal for two reasons, firstly I wanted a smaller nation and secondly I already speak Portuguese. My international career has enabled me to learna few new languages (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/lan.jpg), Romania gives me the chance to get a new one.

I tried to get a big price but no one was interested. I probably could have sold for around £20m but since I have over £500m in the bank money wasn't really an issue, it was worth taking a risk in the hope he would change his mind.

Very sad to see him go but it was perfect timing for the youngster who came through the year before. I think he could be just as good.

My international career really has been a case of highs and lows, just look at the difference in my stints at Spain (http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php?p=3761096#post3761096) and Ghana (http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php?p=3920907#post3920907).

Quite annoyingly, I lose all the scouting knowledge I gain form international management, so I just tend to get someknowledge from one country at a time, like this (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/prof.jpg).

Dartford FC - Barclays Premier League - 2036/37

After a Premier League and Champions League double, the local lads were once again ready to take on the world.

League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-158.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos-68.jpg)

We won this with ease as we were able to rest a lot of players in the run in to the end of the season.

Community Shield (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/comm-11.jpg) - it was nice to meet someone different as we took our chances to win a close match.

UEFA Super Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/super-8.jpg) - once again we met unfamiliar opposition and we struggled to make our dominance pay. It took a frantic extra time to settle the match where youth player Shayne Hall took a starring role.

Club World Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cwc-11.jpg) - it was a young side but they dominated the match.

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-28.jpg) - things were looking comfortable until our goalie got himself sent off. Thankfully we managed to hold on for the win.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/fa-10.jpg) - we absolutely battered our rivals Arsenal but only managed to score once.

UEFA Champions League (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cl-17.jpg) - it was looking like our early goal would seal it but a late equaliser brought extra time which we dominated thanks to Oswaldo Even. For the first time in seven years we had retained the Champions League.

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-85.jpg) - nothing much to see here except Ryan Caddis' move to AC Milan at the end of last season.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-170.jpg) - our striking options are really looking up after the concerns of last season.

Squad (youth products) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squadlocal-1.jpg) - we now have five players making a major contribution, with all of them capable of more in the future.

Key Player Profiles:

Oswaldo Even (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/even-15.jpg) - the legend lives on as he improved on last season's disappointment.

Shayne Hall (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/hall-1.jpg) - produced by our own youth system, he played 35 games at the age of 16 and had a pretty good record, the coaches think he can improve a lot so he has the potential to become a club legend.

Gary Gilder (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/gilder-1.jpg) - another youth product, he provided numerous assists from the wing. he has a lot of potential so hopefully he can improve physically over the next couple of years.

Alan Arnold (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/arnold-3.jpg) - the rock at the centre of my midfield has really proved himself as a good signing, even at £30m.

Lee Pell (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/pell.jpg) - as my old partnership ages this former wonderkid is starting to prove himself as a first choice player.

With the new transfer policy I was expecting a slide in performance, resulting in surrender of our Premier League title. I've got the opposite, this clean sweep of trophies was the first in nine years. There's not really anywhere we can go from here expect to try and repeat it and introduce more youth players to the first team.

Just to add, for the first time ever, my club is worth over £1b (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/1b.jpg)

I've just been presented with possibly the most difficult decision of my career.

A while ago I took on the Romania job with the unlikely aim of qualifying for the World Cup. With a few great results I find myself in this position (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/romq.jpg). I'm on the brink of taking them to the World Cup, with just a draw needed against Italy to stand a great chance of qualifying.

Then this comes in (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/england.jpg).

With my focus on homegrown youth at Dartford, England was my next ideal job after Romania. This (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/engq.jpg) is what the qualification group looks like, a win away in Poland and they are in the World Cup.

Do I chase the dream of taking yet another underdog to the World Cup or should I jump ship to the dream job now?

I've given in to the temptation (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/englandjob.jpg) :(

I just couldn't turn it down, as much as I loved managing Romania this gives me a chance to help out my Dartford team and really contribute to the development of my homegrown youth. It was a very difficult decision but this is really the best job for me.

I hope Romania make it to the World Cup, although if Italy get a convincing win then it will mean hoping for a good draw in the playoffs.

Reading this makes me want to carry on my save game with Middlesbrough where I've won 12 titles in a row. I've started to make the bulk of my team English like you but I'm not getting many English prospects from my academy so I have to buy them in.

Although, a few players who were in my academy who I released have gone on to have good careers and some even have England caps :D.

Great career.

Dartford FC - Barclays Premier League - 2037/38

Last season, despite the 'youth only' transfer policy we managed a clean sweep of the trophies.

(http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-159.jpg) League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league-159.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos-69.jpg)

It looked highly likely that we were going to surrender our PL title to Chelsea as they dominated the league early on. Towards the end of the season they started slipping and we just got stronger and stronger, sealing our 17th consecutive title.

Community Shield (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/comm-12.jpg) - a fairly even match went to penalties thanks to a last gasp equaliser.

UEFA Super Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/super-9.jpg) - despite dominating it took penalties to win this one.

Club World Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cwc-12.jpg) - our ten men made easy work of Chivas, although it came late.

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-29.jpg) - similar to the community shield, they equalised late to take it to penalties.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/fac-5.jpg) - yet another dominant display and yet another penalty win.

UEFA Champions League (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cl-18.jpg) - it was looking like the same old story until a late blast from Rayan Mondoloni.

(http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-86.jpg) Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-86.jpg) - one unhappy player and two signings were sold. As usual, no one was brought in.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-171.jpg) - there are still a lot of key players who I have signed but the youth players are pulling their weight.

Squad (youth products) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squadyouth-1.jpg) - five players now who could be considered important first team players.

Key Player Profiles:

(http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/even-16.jpg) Oswaldo Even (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/even-16.jpg) - with well over 600 goals for the club, he is a true legend. Sadly he is coming towards the end of his career and has made way for the new generation by filling in at left wing for a lot of the season.

Shayne Hall (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/hall-2.jpg) - the golden boy of the new generation, I'm pinning my hopes on him to replace Even.

Bryan Bent (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/bent-1.jpg) - a bit of a utility player but this 'explosive full back' is a great asset.

Ken Johnson (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/johnson-3.jpg) - my first 'wonderkid' from my youth system, he's overcome his early injury problems to take a leading role.

Gary Glider (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/glider.jpg) - my second 'wonderkid', he is giving me great balance on the other wing.

With two clean sweeps there is not a lot more I can ask if this team. My only two remaining hopes are a new stadium to replace the 65000 seater which cannot be expanded and a son. By the looks of things, neither of these are going to happen.

With the impending release of FM10, my time on this game is quickly running out. Sadly I'm not going to have the time to see my youth players control the team and replace the last few remaining signings. I think I will be completing perhaps just one more season with this career, perhaps two at a push.

I would love to do that, but I currently have the two most capped players in our history in our current squad, who both happen to be French. There's no way I could drop these players now, even if they are past their prime, I really want to see out their careers.

England - World Cup - 2038

Qualification (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/quali.jpg) was pretty much secure before I took over, so I took the opportunity to give my own Dartford players the chance of some international experience. I've decided, very selfishly, that I will be using my best Dartford players as much as possible in the upcoming World Cup in South Africa.

England vs Mexico (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/mexico-1.jpg)

I took the brave move of putting out an all Dartford team and they were lucky to come away with a draw.

Turkey vs England (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/turkey-1.jpg)

Once again the all Dartford team went out and once again they failed to get the right result. On a positive note, Shayne Hall got his first goal for England.

England vs Egypt (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/egypt.jpg)

We got the win we needed by abandoning the all Dartford approach.

Final Group Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/group-11.jpg)

We missed out on top spot by goals scored, but at least we qualified.

Australia vs England (2nd round) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/aus-2.jpg)

Perhaps the most undeserved call up from Dartford proved everybody wrong by grabbing the winner in a close match.

England vs Spain (quarter final) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/spain-2.jpg)

We were the second best team but Spain failed to make the most of their chances. My decision to drop my Dartford goalie in favour of an uncapped 29 year old turned out to be a master strike as he claimed the man of the match award and saved a penalty.

Italy vs England (semi final) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/italy-3.jpg)

After taking an early two goal lead all we needed to do was to hang on for the win. My former team bounced back immediately but did just enough to reach the final.

England vs France (final) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/france-3.jpg)

I couldn't resist the opportunity and gambled by putting out an all Dartford team. Sadly it proved to be a mistake as a France team featuring three current and three former Dartford players were just too strong for us. Former Dartford player Andrei Preda got the opener and at 2-0 down things looked desperate. Shayne Hall got us back in the game but the sending off ended our hopes of an unlikely comeback.

UEFA Super Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/super-10.jpg) - we were well on top but our finishing was awful.

Club World Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cwc-13.jpg) - easy stuff as usual.

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-30.jpg) - West Brom gave us a good fight, good job we are good at penalties.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/fac-6.jpg) - this was a shock as we got outplayed by Arsenal.

(http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cl-19.jpg) UEFA Champions League (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cl-19.jpg) - we raced into a four goal lead, which Fiorentina made a good effort to catch in the second half.

(http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-87.jpg) Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-87.jpg) - just one spare goalie sold.

Lee Pell (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/pell-1.jpg) - he was only signed as backup but now he's a world class defender at just 23.

Gary Glider (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/gilder-2.jpg) - another of the 'golden generation', he's getting better every year.

Rayan Mondoloni (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/mondo.jpg) - another key signing from a few years ago, he runs the midfield.

The usual story, although we were run close by Arsenal as they beat us in a match that could have secured the title for us with three games left. Instead it went down to the final day.

Community Shield (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/comm-14.jpg) - we really rode our luck as we made the most of our chances.

UEFA Super Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/super-11.jpg) - once again, we rode our luck and came away with the win.

Club World Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/america.jpg) - despite dominating it took penalties to secure the win.

Carling Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/carling-31.jpg) - massive shock here as we failed at the first hurdle thanks to a couple of late goals and a missed penalty.

FA Cup (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/fa-11.jpg) - we were superb throughout this competition.

UEFA Champions League (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cl-20.jpg) - gut wrenching stuff as we lost on away goals after gifting a couple of late goals in the first leg (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/cl1.jpg).

Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers-88.jpg) - another one of the foreign imports sold for a huge profit.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-173.jpg) - we are in real danger now as we just don't have the quality to replace the ageing stars.

Squad (youth products) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squadlocal-3.jpg) - a few more local boys taking centre stage but it is only really Hall, Gilder and Johnson who are making an impact.

Key Player Profiles:

(http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/even-16.jpg) Shayne Hall (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/hall-5.jpg) - the golden boy of the Dartford generation, he's a class act and has the potential to beat Even's records.

Oswaldo Even (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/even-18.jpg) - the living legend with 612 goals for the club, he's past it now but he still played an important role in our season.

Gary Gilder (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/gilder-3.jpg) - the second best player we have ever produced, I'm starting to forget who Ryan Caddis even is.

Allan Arnold (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/arnold-4.jpg) - he's become a legend at the club and I have recently installed him as the new England captain.

Rayan Mondoloni (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/mondoloni-3.jpg) - another legendary signing, he's become our new captain.

Goodbye:

Scott Spice (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/spice-2.jpg) - this club legend made 479 appearances before finally deciding to retire and become a coach. He's now a 6 star defensive coach.

I think this has been my last season with Dartford, although I could quite easily carry on and see out the potentially legendary career of Shayne Hall, FM10 is just around the corner and my attention will turn to it soon.

There is just one thing to finish off with, the European Championships with England.

From Friday you'll continue with this save or start with one on FM2010?

Good!

I will follow from the beginning. You did a great campaign in Dartford F.C., not feel that already have reached the top and you need other objectives? Start with another small team but for example in the lower leagues of Italy, Spain or Portugal.

I'll be starting another similar game, with a small club from England. This time I hope to play the same game for the entire year though.

Ok I agree you did a spectacular save, just found this your career to 1 week and already read all, I could not stop seeing your deeds, and how sometimes went well, and sometimes go awry.

But what are your goals for this save is no longer one to get a small team of England and takes it to the top of the world?

I want to finish off what I've started with Dartford. I want it create a dominant team made entirely out of youth products.

Great goal.

I tried to do exactly the same, with Bognor Regis, but when it came to the party to make players inside the club in great players always went wrong, always had to hire foreign players.

Good luck, I'm here to follow!:D

England - European Championships - 2040

Qualification (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/qualification-3.jpg) was easy enough, although a bizarre defeat to Bosnia & Herzegovina at home gave me a few doubts.

Some of you may remember two years ago, where I played an all Dartford team in the early round of the World Cup, then abandoned it until the final, which we lost. I plan on doing the same again, hopefully without the losing in the final bit.

England vs Greece (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/greece-1.jpg)

An all Dartford team went out and struggled to get the win against Greece.

Slovenia vs England (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/solvenia-1.jpg)

Once again an all Dartford team went out and scraped the win. This means we have qualified with just a draw against France needed to top the group.

England vs France (group stage) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/france-4.jpg)

I continued with the all Dartford policy and the nation that shattered our dreams last time did it once again.

Final Group Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/group-12.jpg)

We made it through, but only in second.

Germany vs England (quarter final) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/germany-1.jpg)

This is without a doubt the worst way I could have possibly ended this career.

Surely you've got to go back to this save and try to put that behind you! You can't end like that Dafuge! :p

It was a horrible way to end but I'm pretty sure that is it for this game.

On the positive side, this has given me a long term target for my FM10 game. I want to win a major tournament with England by using only youth products from my club.

Ambitious I know, but I think with a bit more time I could have done it with Dartford. It is the sort of thing that would probably take me about 50 seasons to achieve, which is what I'm looking for with the new game.

So am I right in thinking you'll be starting from scratch this Friday then Dafuge? Any plans on who you'll be taking up the leagues this time around?

Also, I'm interested to know if you feel the new tactics interface will change the way you play the game a little bit. Do you think you will move between the different strategies etc., and do you think you will have to take more time over each match on FM10?

I'm really hoping that FM10 will see my best ever save (although I hope that for every new version and I've never quite managed to reach the highs of my FM07 game). I get jealous over reading your career though Dafuge and I'm also inspired to try to have an amazing save in FM10. I play a quite a bit slower than you so I doubt I will get so far but maybe I could if I stick with it from the moment FM10 comes out! :p :D

Regards,
C.

Yes, I'll be starting a new game on Friday. I'm not sure who it will be yet, but it will be for my challenge (http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php?t=62170) so it will be a small BSN/S club. I'm from the south, so it is more likely to be a BSS club.

I'm not really sure how the new tactics interface will change the way I play. I'm hoping I can stick to the 'one tactic' approach as I can play a lot faster like that but I suppose I'll find out soon.

I wanted to play just one save throughout FM09, but my laptop died so I ended up having three. I think I might be able to do it with FM10 though.

As a Dartford F.C. Supporter myself I could only dream of my club reaching the heights advertised in youro career game lol. Up the Darts!

B.T.W - How did Princes Park handle your moves up the league? In real life its got a capacity of 4000 which could be expanded but not by a lot. Did you have to build a new stadium or ground share with anyone?

It got expanded up to 15000 before we finally got a new stadium.

Sadly the new stadium could not be expanded by much so I was stuck at 65000 when we could have had a lot more.

Fantastic career Dafuge, Utter domination for Dartford for nearly 20 years. Looking forward to reading your exploits for FM2010.

I bet you win the mod race to close this thread when the time comes. Are you going to post a close thread request in the mod requests thread to give purefun and Neji a chance?

Thanks everyone, this has probably been the best save game I've had since FM06. I'm hoping I'll have something bigger and better for FM10 but you'll have to wait until Friday for it to start.

If there's any last minute requests for screenshots or information, this is your last chance. I will be uninstalling FM09 at some point over the next couple of days and this game will go, along with the screenshots eventually.

As much as I'd love that, I've pretty much resigned myself to never recreating that achievement again in England. Ever since FM06 I've struggled to get one striker to score that many goals, the 600 scored by Oswaldo Even was the best I've had for some time.

What a brilliant career!

The thing that sticks out for me is winning the Premier League in your second season up there. Was it just a case of signing the right players; or have you got some sort of super-tactic?

It was the third season actually, but yes, I did win it pretty quickly.

I actually put it down to the loss in the Championship playoffs, it gave me an extra two years in the Championship which gave me time to build a young squad as you can see here (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad-130.jpg). A lot of these players who got lots of games in the Championship went on to become Premier League stars and England internationals.

Although my tactics are solid, they are pretty basic and nothing special. Most of my success is just down to signing good players and developing them from a young age.
