Jamgarro
why limit the age to 100? its already unrealistic to be at least 80 and manage a club, let me grow older. is it because it starts to look ridiculous as i get further into the game?
jayahr
No, it's a Truman Show kind of thing. The further in we get, the bigger any file will be and SI don't want us to see the game crash
Roy Keane
No its just cos it's unrealistic going over 100. If you could go over 100 there would be lads complaining that it's unrealistic
Sobek
Its SI's way of saying you should get a life outside of FM.
HarryMills
It's a game, we buy it and if someone wants to manage for hundreds of years let them, I'm pretty sure that some biblical sorts lived to be hundreds of years old; if they played football in ancient Arimathea, I bet Moses would have been a ''wily old manager''. potemkin125
LOL I bet his half time team talks were something else. The hairdryer treatment doesnt quite match up to the Burning Bush treatment I bet
sparey
Surely its more realistic for it to stop at 100. As you said its unrealistic for a manager to be 80 and still working. I think this is shown because there is RETIRE option. Meaning you can retire, at an age you see fit (30, 67, even 99) Then add a new user for the same team, therefore no other managers effected! postal postie
whats this limit in? the database. if so its probably to keep a leash on the validity of the data theyd have to set a limit at some point.
sthptngomad76
Tbh I didn't know there was a limit...they force you to retire??
sparey
No, what i think it is, is once you reach the age 100, it just doesnt go up any more.
Jamgarro
yeah, im stuck at 100 but im still managing the same club. got a sideline ban for throwing my dentures at the referee.
silva_gunner
The 'actual' limit is 128 (this is the hghest it is possible for anyone to be). I believe this is due to it being 2 to the power of something, thus is a computerish number. i imagine you could edit your age up until this. At which point it may revert to -128. -Shakes-
I think SI owes it to consumers to show some sort of interest in their well-being. This is their attempt at trying to save your life

It'd be 127, actually, or 1111111 in binary. Any older would take another binary digit, and why wouldn't you use that to its fullest and go all the way up to 255? It would actually revert to -128 after 127 though, which would be an interesting age.
Stevicus
Someone want to create a 99 year old manager who's birthday is the 2nd of July and see what happens?
