Bug - Conference South to North

Recommended Posts

The latitude of Hitchin is 51.958; if you look at the latitudes of the teams that start off in the Conference South, you see:

Worcester 52.197

Braintree 51.882

Bishop's Stortford 51.875

St Albans 51.751

Chelmsford 51.732

Maidenhead 51.525

Bromley 51.524

Hayes & Yeading 51.517

Thurrock 51.475

Newport County 51.472

Welling 51.466

Fisher 51.453

Hampton & Richmond 51.422

AFC Wimbledon 51.412

Bath, Team Bath 51.389

Weston-super-Mare 51.348

Basingstoke 51.268

Eastleigh 50.973

Havant & Waterlooville 50.853

Bognor Regis 50.787

Dorchester 50.713

Hitchin is further north than all of those except Worcester, so not surprisingly it's among the favourites to be moved up to the North if a team is needed to do so.

Good post there from Jack Rudd. Pretty much clears things up. As an interesting side note, it's quite amusing that Gloucester City have been promoted to the Blue Square North while Worcester City continue to play in the Blue Square South, even though Worcester is further North than Gloucester and Cirencester (where Gloucester actually play). Why not just put Worcester in the BSN and Gloucester in the BSS? Well, there's a rule which I am not sure exists in FM (perhaps someone could clear this up) which states that a club can't be moved between the BSN and BSS more than once in a three-year period. Worcester moved from the BSN to the BSS two seasons ago, so couldn't be moved to the BSN. Therefore, poor Gloucester face gloomy trips as far North as Blyth and Workington.

Explain to me how Thurrock is further south than Bromley?

Clubs CAN move between BSN/BSS more than once in a three year period - but ONLY if they agree to it. In the Worcester / Gloucester scenario you mentioned, Worcester were offered the chance to move back north but declined.
