Has anyone ever had a different league crack the top 3 in Europe?

Recommended Posts

And by that I mean, has anyone ever had a country other than England, Spain, or Italy in the top 3 of the UEFA coefficients? In my save, Belgium managed to crack the top 6, giving them 3 CL berths a year, but the top 3 remains unchanged, and will for the foreseeable future, despite Lyon just winning it all.

Wow, how many years did this take?

About 15 years.

La Liga (now Liga BBVA) is very unpredictable nowadays. Real Madrid, predicted to finish 8th, are now 18th or something. Winners come and go, with reigns lasting 1-2 years before dropping off dramatically. The last real dominator was Real Betis but I thrash them every time I meet them - indicating Champions of Spain really means nothing on a global scale any more with respect to the European competitions. Tenerife, predicted to finish 18th, are now 2nd and looking comfortable.

Spain is a Socialist paradise now, really. The worst teams have solid squads and several players are decent options in the Spanish national team. The Spanish national team isn't a powerhouse but is a solid team. I'd say Scotland have the strongest national team, followed by England, then Italy, then Spain.

3 Champions Leagues spots has hurt Spain, though.

Managing Ajax i never managed to get Holland above 5th or 6th in the coefficients even though i was consistently successful in Europe. Problem was the other CL qualifying teams would either fail at the qualifying rounds or finish the group stage with 1 point. The other nations remained relatively the same.

x42bn6 - which leagues are you running and who are you managing?

England, Spain and Italy to the lowest leagues possible.

Loaded nations are all Home Nations.

I have the same problem with Belgium: no matter how good you are, the other teams do their best to bring the national coefficient down by losing against almost every team! :(
