Rayvon2
Im sure I have read something about this on here before but couldnt find anything. Is there a bug that keeps drawing you in the cup against the team you are due to play in the league a few days after the cup match? ie I have just been drawn against Man Utd in the league cup, Spurs in the FA Cup and Man City in the European cup and I play them all the next game after the cup game. Or is it just coincedence?
stevvy
coincidence, nothing more, particularly once you get to the business end of the competitions (quarter finals onwards)
Mike J
Coincidence. It happens in real life too. I believe Liverpool and Chelsea had to play each other 3 times in two weeks in the last few years due to the CL draw.
Pure0xygen
On my last season i had newcastle 3 times in a row, then spurs 3 times in a row, both in league and uefa cup. as well as consecutive games against arsenal and man united.
Koki
Last season Hamburg and Bremen played each other 4 times within 19 days. In the domestic cup, in the Bundesliga and twice in the UEFA-cup. I believe that it's a coincidence which you believe to happen too often because you only realise when it happens and don't seem to notice all the seasons it doesn't happen. lfc5sb
i was AC Milan and played Inter in 2 legs of the Italian cup, 2 champions league legs and a league game all back to back
Magnakai Haaskivi
Liverpool played Everton three games straight this year (two FA Cup replays and a league game); it's not unheard of.
Administrators Neil Brock Posted June 24, 2009 Administrators Share Posted June 24, 2009 Definitely coincidence, happens quite a bit IRL too.
Manager Milney
yeah arsenal played southampton a few years ago in the league then in fa cup final
jakey89
I'm with the original poster here sorry guys, seems to me that at least twice a season (no exaggeration) I will be playing a team up to FOUR times in a row - the league, FA cup, league cup or Champions League. Might just be a coincidence but seems to happen an awful lot to be a coincidence still...
david22
its not conicidence, its fate
Maran
happens to me all the time
foofighter23
how about getting man city 6 years running in the fa cup 3rd round, starting a whole new game and getting them again in the 3rd round. now that'll make you tear your hair out!!!
Bradz FM
it happens maybe once a season so if you consider you play 3 rounds of 2 legs in European competition, 7 rounds of FA Cup and and 4 rounds of Carling cup including a 2 leg semi, it doesnt happen that often
starburst91
Sorry but its happened to me way too often for it to be a coincidence like it is when it happens in real life. In one career it happened more than once a season on average to me.
Braundjoh
I have to say it seems like more than coincidence I seem to always have the team I play in the next match. Or it might just be you remember that one because of that reason, rather than the frequency of it.
AXERTYRE
Lol just read about this thread, my next league game is against Chelsea and before the game there came the FA cup draw, guess what I got Chelsea out of 50 odd teams in the draw.
starburst91
I don't know how people can say its a coincidence, it might happen a bit regularly to different teams in real life but to an individual team it should happen once in a blue moon. To most teams it should happen once in at least 10 seasons at the most.
erik86
Its happened to me alot too! Annoying!
Administrators Neil Brock Posted June 25, 2009 Administrators Share Posted June 25, 2009 There is a bug (which is fixed by the 9.3 patch) to do with cup draws, where the FA Cup draws were regionalised. As said this was fixed by the patch, but there is no other bug in regards to cups and drawing the same teams. Thank.
Neji
I thought the same as the OP, so I went about proving it. I counted how many times this happened over my entire save game and it really didn't happen as often as I thought. I think it comes down to it being something you notice because it does seem odd when it happens several times. I think it is because you play a lot of seasons quickly on FM so it seems like it happens more than it really does.
