FM08 - Varying Attributes from Editor

Recommended Posts

I have a small question about attributes in FM2008..

I created two separate databases using the FM2008 data editor. Each database had a 17 year old star in them - set with 0CA, 200PA, but fairly decent stats (Premier League roughly), so approximately 18 finishing, 18 dribbling, yada yada)

However, I am encountering a weird problem.

In one of the databases, my player's attributes have gone down from 20 to about 14. His CA is roughly 124 according to Genie Scout. All of his attributes are much lower then when I set them.

In the other databse, the other player's attributes are the same. His CA is 125, the same as the first player, however all of his stats have remained at 20. The two saved games are almost identical - I have only played them for two games, they are with the exact same standard of club..

I am running a competition, so I need some help.

Why has one of my player's attributes dropped? When I go to the data editor, it still shows the attributes as 20 and 20 like what they used to be, however in game they are down a lot.

Can someone please help me with this, and perhaps offer how I can make the attributes go back up to their default values?

For one, we're playing FM09 now, and for two, this is an issue for the Editors' Hideaway forum, not GQ.

Anyway, a few points - but take the query to that specialist forum:

If you use the editor to give a youngster high attributes, the game will put them down to allow him to develop. This happens fairly randomly and also differs according to position, which is why the two youths have different attributes. If you want the attributes to be higher you have to do two things - raise the CA and use the 'cheat' in-game editor FMRTE to change the attributes. Again, details are all in the Editors' forum.
