dafuge
CM4 was the first version with the 2D match view. I don't remember it being too highly rated though as it followed 01/02 which is still a lot of people's favourite version.
Ferthepoet
CM4 was full bugs the second one with 2d CM 0304 was way better

I loved that game because of that. You can even build hotels bribe match officials and if I remember correctly you can also place a bet to win or lose. Obviously it was crap when it came to the actual football I can't remember actually ever losing the title but still it was fun.
Ezequiel_Lavezzi
I think I could never win in USM. The version I played seemed to be impossibly difficult, regardless of the world champions. The closest I got to the title I blew it away by offering a bribe to the opposing team.
elgreenio
thanks for reminding me that i'll never realistically play USM again, my disc for it is in 2 parts , especially the offering staff wages of £9999999999999999 cheat
Althaz
Championship Manager 4 was the first game from SI with the 2d match engine, however it was one of the buggiest games ever released.

Rocknrollpear
CM4, I used to get Mpenza, Olisadebe, Fiore, Seb Deisler, free start of every game by offering acceptable amount then going back and setting bid at £0, then start contract negotiations.
