canvey!!
El Aprendiz: Tú eres Despedidos! Vicente del Bosque has won 2 domestic titles and 2 Champions Leagues. Now, for the first time, he’s on the lookout for an apprentice. Vicente del Bosque: This is not a game. This is a job interview from hell. From all corners of the world, 20 people have come to Madrid. Vicente del Bosque: I don’t care where you come from, whether you started in a council flat, or born with a silver spoon in your mouth. All I’m looking for is someone who’s drop-dead shrewd. They’re here to compete for a job worth €100,000, with a man famously hard to please. Vicente del Bosque: No one’s gonna make a fool out of me! Vicente del Bosque has built up a cabinet of 7 domestic titles. Now, for the first time, he’s on the hunt for an apprentice. Vicente del Bosque: I think this has been a bloody disaster! And I promise you, amigo, you will be out that door so quick, you wouldn’t know what’s hit you. To succeed, they’re going to have to play…and win against each other. It’s the chance of a lifetime. Vicente del Bosque: You went out and lost me money! You’re fired. You’re fired. You’re a total shambles, you’re fired. The Idea 20 forumers replace the incumbent 20 managers of La Liga clubs. The managers are split into two teams and each week, Vicente del Bosque sets the teams a task, which equates to a Football Manager Objective. The scores of the two teams are added up and the losing team is called into the boardroom. From that team, one person will be fired. The Sign-up As with all my sign-ups, the sign-up form is relatively simple and requires you to choose from a few simple options to determine your manager profile. As well as your vital statistics such as name and nationality, you need to tell me how many years you have spent playing, as a coach, as an assistant, and as a manager. This must be between 0 and 10, and don’t ask why these are the limits. All managers will be born in the year 2009 – 18 – their past experience, although if this is less than 30 they will be born in 1977. If you want a female manager, please add that to the bottom of your sign-up form. The Teams All managers are split into two teams. Initially called the Yellows and the Reds, the managers can then decide democratically their team name, which they will keep for the rest of the sign-up. The teams will be based upon the media predictions of the clubs, so each team will be as strong as the other. As the sign-up progresses and managers are fired, the teams will be reshuffled to keep seedings. The Project Manager Each task will have two Project Managers, one for each team. At first, these are selected at random and the list is enacted until everyone remaining has spent time as Project Manager. After this, I choose new Project Managers based on the number of times they have been Project Manager and the recentness of these times. I reserve the right to appoint a Project Manager of my choosing for any given task. This year, the Project Manager plays a more vital role in the team. In the task, the Project Manager scores double points for the team, regardless of the nature of the task, as long as the result is countable. Notes Just to clarify, this is a sign-up, which means you do not have to play any of the tasks. However, you will need to be available to email or PM me with votes and defence speeches. For more information, see last year’s version. If you took part in last year’s version, while you are allowed to compete again, you may want to let someone else compete instead. However, if you were in last year’s and you sign up, I’m not going to judge you as denying someone else’s opportunity. I reserve the right to reject and sign-up form outright without stating a reason. A schedule will be released in due course, but we will probably get through one task per week, at least for the foreseeable future. canvey!!
Yes, I'm afraid PluckaDuck and Haowan have missed out. There's no guarantee of us moving onto the next stage today - it looks like Wednesday will be the starting date.
Lower Leagues Rule
I am sure we can all wait til Wednesday. All I want to see now is which team I pull out, I still believe a mid table side is a better bet than a top or bottom team. Go under the radar and surprise everyone at the end.
